The Knight of Ashwood

Once upon a time, a kingdom lay in the heart of a lush green valley. This kingdom, known as Ashwood, was famous for its golden crops and brave knights.
Edward was the youngest knight of Ashwood. Hardly 18 years old, he bore the duty of protecting Ashwood with unwavering bravery. Each knight of Ashwood was granted a mystical beast as a companion. Typically, a knight would have an eagle or a wolf, but Edward was different. He had been given a griffon — a symbol of valor, nobility, and strength.
One fateful day, the Royal astronomer predicted an unprecedented celestial event — a storm of meteors that could wipe Ashwood off the map. Palpable fear enveloped the subjects, and Edward decided to stand up against fate to protect his motherland.
Edward, accompanied by his griffon, set on a journey to find the Elixir of Luno to ward off the approaching disaster. Edward had only heard stories of the Elixir of Luno from his father. His father told him it was kept guarded by Erebos, a giant, flambeau dragon perched atop the Great Mystic Mountain.
As Edward crossed forests and swam across rivers, his griffon never left his side, always ready to protect his master. After traversing various formidable terrains, they finally reached the base of the Great Mystic Mountain. As he climbed, he noticed the temperature changing dramatically. By the time he reached the summit, it was a freezing wasteland painted white.
In the icy winds, Edward found Erebos, a dragon of immeasurable size, its scales shimmering in the moonlight. Edward, though intimidated, approached Erebos, and with all the courage he could muster, spoke, 'Erebos, I am Edward from Ashwood. I seek the Elixir of Luno to save my kingdom from certain death'.
Erebos looked at him, its ember eyes glaring. He spoke, 'You seek what many have sought before — the Elixir. But it comes with a challenge, and it demands sacrifice.'
Erebos revealed that to get the Elixir, Edward needed to forfeit what he loved the most. Edward realized that he had to sacrifice his griffon companion. After a heavy hearted goodbye, Edward passed the challenge, and Erebos handed him the Elixir of Luno. With heaviness, Edward descended the mountain and traveled back to Ashwood.
On the arrival of the designated day, Edward held the Elixir high above his head. The sky turned dark, pierced only by flickering meteor tails. He recited the incantation passed down by his father. As he finished, the Elixir exploded into million fragments of pure light, forming a dome over Ashwood. Meteors crashed into the protective dome, exploding into beautiful, harmless sparks.
The people of Ashwood celebrated their survival, hailing their young knight a hero. They mourned the griffon's sacrifice, painting murals in his memory across Ashwood.
Edward, now hailed as the Knight of Ashwood, felt a sense of accomplishment and sadness. He had saved his kingdom but at the cost of his loyal friend. Every night he spent looking at the moon, he remembered his griffon, a steadfast companion, a friend, a hero of Ashwood.
With time, the people of Ashwood moved forward, basking in their newfound peace. But they remembered the lesson of sacrifice the stars had taught them. Above all, they remembered their brave knight and his griffon, two heroes who became legends of Ashwood.
