The Kingdom That Defied The Sun
There was once a kingdom called Solaris that shone bright under the brilliant dazzling sun. Ruled by the wise and noble King Solstice and his graceful queen, Aurora, Solaris was known for two things - its incredibly fertile land and unyielding unity amongst its subjects.
The story starts while King Solstice and Aurora were blessed with a son, named Lux. The thing about Lux was he could not stand sunlight. Even a fraction of a sunbeam would burn his skin, cause him agony. The king and queen were devastated but loved Lux all the same.
Years went along, Lux spent his days in darkness, only emerging again in the twilight hours. He grew in strength and wisdom. And as he grew, so did his curiosity to see the sun. Using his intellect, Lux devised a formula for a varnish made of certain peculiar species of flora which when applied could allow him to endure sunlight.
Meanwhile, in another realm dwelled Moros, the Lord of Shadows. He harbored resentment towards Solaris for its light and vitality and envied the potent Sun they worshiped. He wanted their praise for himself, and so, schemed to extinguish sun from the lands of Solaris.
One day, Lux emerged under the Sun, much to the joy and surprise of his people. But happiness was short-lived as the sun started to fade. The whole kingdom started to panic as daylight began to disappear. King Solstice, unable to understand the situation, assembled his advisors for counsel.
A wise old advisor spoke of a prophecy. 'A child born of Solstice would roam in the shadows, yet save the kingdom from eternal twilight’. It was Lux; he was their only hope. The King entrusted Lux with the task of restoring their Sun and blessed him on his journey.
Venturing into the slowly darkening landscape, Lux used his thorough knowledge about the solar system. Guided by the North Star, Lux traveled for days, crossing treacherous mountain passes, dangerous forests, monstrous lakes till he reached the abode of Moros. Lord Mayhem, the gatekeeper of Moros's realm, challenged Lux. With his quick wit and skill, Lux managed to defeat Mayhem and ventured forth.
But he could not stand a chance against Moros. Underestimating Lux's strength, Moros seized him and commanded more darkness. It seemed all was lost. That's when Lux remembered his father's motto, 'the darkest night will pass, and the sun will rise'. With conviction, Lux mustered all his courage and using the enchanted varnish he had made, he created an illusion of daylight.
Moros, weakened by the sudden light, screamed in pain. Lux freed his kingdom from the curse, restoring the Sun to its former glory. Exhausted, he returned home, and the kingdom erupted with cheers and appreciation. Lux's dedication, wisdom, and courage saved Solaris.
His mother, Queen Aurora pronounced that henceforth, the day of the Sun's return would be celebrated as Luna Day - 'Lux's Day'. Not only did Lux solve his problem and fulfilled his dream of living under the Sun, but he also saved his kingdom from the impending shadow.
And thus, the story of Lux, the Prince of Solaris who defied the Sun, is told across generations; a tale of courage, intellect, willpower, and love. Despite their son's inability to stand the sun, King Solstice and Queen Aurora loved and supported him. It was this love and faith that guided Lux to save his kingdom and himself.
