The Kingdom of the Eternal Sun
In a time when humans shared the world with magical creatures, there existed a kingdom known as the Kingdom of the Eternal Sun. It was enveloped in an everlasting golden light, a spectacle caused by the Orb of the Sun, a powerful magical relic bestowed upon the kingdom by the gods.
The Orb of the Sun was the responsibility of the royal family, it was the duty of the king to harness its power and keep the kingdom prosperous. The reigning king, King Aelius, was a benevolent, wise man who ruled with justice and compassion. He was loved by his people, who thrived in the eternal sunshine.
The king had a son, Prince Illyrian, a curious and adventurous young lad, always seeking action and knowledge. King Aelius often shared old mythical tales about the power of the Orb and its history with him, sparking his curiosity.
On his eighteenth birthday, as had been the custom for centuries, Illyrian was bestowed the responsibility of the Orb. Overwhelmed yet eager, he promised to protect it with his life, just as generations of his ancestors had.
However, jealousy and spite lingered in the hearts of the northern kingdoms. They sought to seize the Orb, covetous of the endless abundance it gave the Kingdom of the Eternal Sun. Led by the vicious King Argus, they plotted to steal it.
One cold, winters' night, Argus led his men, disguised as travelers, to the gates of the sun-lit kingdom. They used powerful dark magic to cloud the vision of the guards and infiltrated the castle. They wrestled the Orb from its sanctuary but their greed was not satiated, they also captured Prince Illyrian, hoping to use him as a bargaining chip.
King Aelius was devastated. His kingdom was plunged into darkness and his son was in the hands of the cruel King Argus. Nevertheless, he did not lose hope.
Meanwhile, Illyrian was imprisoned in the icy northern dungeons, where no sunbeam ever reached. He spent his days plotting his escape and the recovery of the Orb. In his dreams, he would see his father, who’d remind him of the power within him to overcome any hurdle.
In the silence of the night, Prince Illyrian broke free from his shackles. Using the fighting skills he'd learnt as a boy, he subdued the guards and escaped the fortress. He was weakened, but his resolve never waned. He knew that he must recover the Orb not just to restore his Kingdom but to maintain harmony throughout the world.
When he arrived at the chamber where the Orb was kept, he was astounded by the sight before him - the Orb had lost its shimmer. The ill intentions of Argus had tainted the Orb, causing it to dim. Illyrian knew restoring the Orb was an arduous task, but he had to do it.
He held the orb gently in his hands and whispered the ancient words of restoration his father had shared with him in tales of old. The Orb vibrated, pulsated, and then, like a newborn sun, it radiated a warm and intensive light illuminating the Northern Kingdom.
Shocked by the illumination, Argus and his men were baffled. Taking advantage of their confusion, Prince Illyrian escaped, returning home with the shining Orb. The once dark kingdom was replenished and bloomed once again under the revived sun.
King Aelius embraced his son in a tearful reunion, proud of his bravery and strength. Prince Illyrian’s actions proved his worthiness to inherit the responsibility of the Orb. The Kingdom celebrated the restoration of their endless light and their prince's triumphant return. From then on, they guarded their Orb with twice the vigor, never allowing it to leave their sight.
In the Kingdom of the Eternal Sun, the Orb shone brighter, protected by King Aelius and Prince Illyrian, ensuring harmony and prosperity for their people and generations to come. The tale of Prince Illyrian’s bravery against the odds became a story to be told to every generation, a story of heroism, duty, and the importance of protecting one's home.
