The King's Curse and the Power of Love

Once upon a time, in a land far away, surrounded by the majestic mountains concealed with snowy crests, the king of gold miners, Albert lived. King Albert was an intriguing protagonist who ruled over his kingdom effectively but what struck everybody was his eccentricity not to hold any precious metals or gemstones. Instead, he filled his castle with rocks of various colors and sizes.
One day, a charming and radiantly beautiful maiden, Bluestone came to his castle. The king was so mesmerized by her beauty that he forgot about his treasures and fell in love with her. He quickly proposed to her and Bluestone accepted. The kingdom was in joy; preparations for the grand wedding were in full swing when the changeling, the notorious witches, Gredelda and Griselda heard about this massive event.
The witches ambushed the celebration with a curse on the kingdom, turning all rocks into heavy gold. This didn't stop the wedding but made the celebration even more special. King Albert was uninterested in gold, and he found his beloved Bluestone, suffocating due to the encumbered treasure. He made a pact with the witches to save his love's life. The witches, cackling with delight, imparted the curse of a lonely heart to Albert and broke the enchantment on Bluestone. The spell on Bluestone was lifted, and she was alive but had lost her memories of Albert.
Albert, who had gained the experiences of his people while he was king, wasn't a bitter man and didn't let his curse of a lonely heart take control of his life. He once again lived a modest life, away from the crown and palace. Happily, he trekked back to his beloved mountains' summit to seek trade with town folks that he was familiar with. He made a remarkable attempt to spend his life in sincere acknowledgment of everyone's suffering, opposing the very existence of his curse.
After a few years, Bluestone happened to meet Albert. Strangely, Albert's honest love and innocence shone through, reaching out to Bluestone's heart. This moment became a turning point, and through an innate pull, Bluestone started gaining her memories back. She realized that Albert was the man she loved and owed her life to. Keeping aside the complications of the curse, they decided to start their lives anew, together, as a humble man and woman in the mountains' shade.
The surprise was, the day she remembered everything about Albert and accepted him with all his sufferings, the curse on Albert lifted. It was not the witches but the power of true love that could break Albert's curse of a lonely heart. Their story is still sung as a song in the hallways of the mountains, reiterating the power of honesty, humility, sufferings, and most importantly, love.
