The Journey of the Prophetic King
In a long-forgotten kingdom, there stood an enormous castle made of vivid, white marble. It was the habitation of the generous King Walden, a sovereign known for his kindness and courage. However, over the course of time, Walden’s only son, Prince Zephyr, grew into an indifferent and apathetic adult. The prince never expressed interest in the affairs of the kingdom, nor had he the inclination to ascend the throne.
Walking away from his responsibilities, Zephyr led a life of solitary exploration of the wilderness that lay just beyond the castle walls. His fascination with nature was borderline obsession, as he hoped to discover something extraordinary in the wilderness. Many persistent endeavours later, Zephyr found a cave hidden away at the base of a dormant volcano. Inside that cave, he discovered a massive, glowing sapphire resting atop an ancient stone pillar.
Entranced by the stone's mesmerising radiance, he reached for it. As soon as his hand touched the precious gemstone, he was swept into a whirlwind of visions. He saw wars raging, natural disasters wreaking havoc and, worst of all, his people suffering. Shocked and frightened, he pulled his hand back. He was left standing in the echoing silence of the cave, with the glowing gem benign before him.
Zephyr rushed back to the castle and confessed what he had found and experienced to his father. After a long deliberation, Walden enlisted the help of the court elder, Corvus, to decipher the visions. After all, Corvus was a renowned seer of the kingdom.
Upon hearing of the mysterious gem, Corvus consulted the ancient texts. He discovered that it was the Eye of the Oracle, an artifact prophesied to imbue its true owner with the power to foresee calamities. Corvus confirmed that the visions Zephyr had experienced were of destruction awaiting their kingdom. He assured the king that the power of the oracle stone could be harnessed only by someone with a pure heart, unburdened by desire for power.
Inspired by the prophecy, Zephyr finally understood the importance of stepping into his royal duties. With Corvus's guidance, he trained tirelessly to activate the stone’s prophecies on demand and use the visions to protect his kingdom.
Over years, Zephyr developed an intimate bond with his people and his land. He used his prophetic ability wisely; increasing crop yields, averting natural disasters, and maintaining peace within their borders. There were no wars or famines, and the people spent their lives in peace and prosperity. As for King Walden, he could not have been more proud to leave his throne to his son, who was no longer the apathetic prince but a prophetic ruler.
When King Walden finally passed on, Prince Zephyr ascended the throne with the heartfelt support of his people. His reign was aptly known as the Era of the Prophetic King. Through his journey, Zephyr taught his kingdom that destiny is not etched in stone; rather, it can be moulded by those with the courage to rise to their challenges.
