The Humble Saviour of Calmerrill
Once upon a time, in the small kingdom of Calmerrill, lived a humble baker named Edgar. Despite living in a modest, small town, the bread that Edgar baked in his small bakery was renowned throughout the kingdom for its unique taste. It was the secret recipe passed down to him by his father.
One fine morning, while Edgar proudly carried a loaf of his 'Father's Special' to the King's castle, a dark shadow rapidly spread over the town. The prosperous kingdom fell into doom as the rumour of a deadly disease spread like wildfire. The citizens became ailing and weak, devoid of energy and enthusiasm. The once vibrant town was drowning in sorrow.
Edgar, while worried for his fellow townpeople, remained in good health. He saw the suffering around him, people struggling to keep up with their fields and livestock. He wondered if the bread he ate daily had something that the disease couldn't penetrate. The idea terrified him, but also gave him hope.
One day, a knowledgeable traveller from a distant kingdom had some of Edgar's bread. With one bite, his eyes sparkled. He recognized a rare herb, 'Soulvine', in the taste. Known in his land for its miraculous medicinal properties, Soulvine was thought to be extinct. The traveller revealed the herb's identity to Edgar, and its potential to cure the suffering kingdom.
Initially, Edgar was filled with guilt for not being aware of the magic herb. But feeling guilty would not help save his people. Edgar took matters into his own hands. He baked massive quantities of his Soulvine-infused bread, distributing it freely. The conventional physician also used the herb for potions.
Slowly, the kingdom started reviving. The resuscitating energy brimming in the people of Calmerrill was infectious. Their cheerful smiles began returning to their faces. The prosperous Kingdom was back on its feet, all thanks to the humble baker and his father's secret recipe.
Upon recovery, the King summoned Edgar in his court. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude and pronounced Edgar as the ‘Saviour of Calmerrill.’ The King offered Edgar riches beyond imagination, but Edgar had a different wish. He wanted every citizen to learn the art of baking his magic bread. The King was taken aback but complied. Edgar extensively shared his secret bread-making technique with all his fellow people.
The Kingdom flourished more than ever before, happiness, joy, and health filled every corner. The people of Calmerrill respected and saw Edgar with immense gratitude in their eyes. Edgar's little bakery bloomed into every household of Calmerrill, strengthening the entire kingdom from within.
Upon the hill, overlooking Calmerrill, Edgar would stand with a content smile on his face. His small world made a big difference. He maintained the humility, kindness, and the bread, that his father left behind. With the journey that unfolded for him, Edgar realized wealth was not in gold or silver but in love, health, and service. By simply continuing a family tradition, he managed to safeguard a kingdom. His aura became an inspiration for many generations to come.
