The Hero of Aflatunia
Once upon a time, in the medieval era, there was a small kingdom, Aflatunia, surrounded by mountains from all the sides. The kingdom was known for its magnificent architecture and enchanting simplicity. At the heart of the city, there was a golden palace standing tall, home to the wise old King Julian. King Julian was loved by all and appreciated for his just and fair rules. However, circles of sorrow surrounded the joy as King Julian had no heir to the throne.
As King Julian grew older, his worry for a successor becoming more and more noticeable. He decided to declare a competition open to all the young men in the kingdom. Whoever could retrieve the golden feather from the dreaded Dragon's Peak would be declared his heir.
A young shepherd, named Evan, who heard the King's proclamation from a passing merchant, was intrigued. He was strong, brave, and known for his intelligence in the nearby rural areas. Evan decided to give it a try. He kissed his mother goodbye, packed everything he needed, and set off on his journey to Dragon's Peak.
The journey was long and arduous. Dragon's Peak was covered in snow, making it almost impossible for anyone to reach the top. As he neared the peak, he saw the dragon guarding the golden feather. The dragon was enormous, with blazing red eyes and sharp claws. Despite the fear amplifying inside him, Evan continued forward.
As Evan approached the dragon, he was very careful not to alarm it. He noticed the chained collar around the dragon's neck. The dragon was not a menace but a sorrowful being held captive. With a deep breath, Evan proclaimed loudly, 'I didn't come here to steal, but to ask for your permission, noble dragon.'
The dragon was taken aback. No one had ever spoken to him so respectfully. Looking at Evan intently, the dragon said, 'Free me from these chains, and you shall have the golden feather.'
Evan agreed to the dragon's condition. He used all his strength to break open the heavy chains around the dragon's neck. The dragon, finally feeling the sense of freedom, let out a joyous cry and flew around in circles, expressing its happiness.
Staying true to his words, the dragon picked a golden feather from his body and handed it over to Evan. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Evan thanked the dragon and began his journey back to the kingdom.
After weeks of challenging adventure, Evan returned to Aflatunia with the golden feather. King Julian, shocked yet pleased, crowned Evan as his heir. The kingdom celebrated with grandeur, filling with joyous cheers and blessings for their new crown prince. Meanwhile, Evan, as humble as ever, promised to serve the kingdom justly and bring prosperity to Aflatunia.
With time, Evan proved himself to be as wise a ruler as King Julian. He led the kingdom with great dignity and fairness, always remembering the lesson of empathy he learned from his adventure.
In the end, he wasn't just considered the king but also the hero, the liberator who had freed the dragon from his bondage and brought the golden feather to Aflatunia, ushering in a new era of prosperity and peace for all, under his rule.
