The Guardian of The Wilderness
There once was a time when humans and animals lived in harmony. They communicated and coexisted peacefully in the vast emerald wilderness, a paradise with towering trees, bountiful fruits, and sparkling waterfalls. This majestic place was home to an unusually brave and wise owl named Auriel, the Guardian of the Wilderness.
Auriel possessed knowledge and wisdom beyond any creature's comprehension. He was the son of the ancient owl Eolande, who was gifted with the Great Wisdom as she saved the land from the wrath of Mother Nature. Auriel inherited this wisdom, and his duty was to solve disputes, maintain harmony, and protect every creature dwelling in the wilderness.
One beautiful morning, Auriel perceived a tense aura in the wind. He noticed the critters acting unusual, the deer laying low, and the birds not singing. Nevertheless, Auriel reassured them that they have nothing to fear under his guardianship and took off to investigate the matter himself.
Hidden by the dense foliage, a group of men had arrived on the border of the wilderness. With their axes and saws glistening under the sun, they were planning on cutting down the trees and plundering nature's wealth. Auriel, with his keen senses, understood their intentions.
The wise guardian owl summoned all the animals and outlined his plan. He relied on the combined strength and wisdom of the critters of all shapes and sizes. The largest and strongest, like the bears and the wolves, were to create diversions and obstacles to slow the men's progression. The agile and quick ones like the rabbits and the squirrels were entrusted with sabotaging their tools covertly. The small and unnoticeable, like insects, would cause inconvenience and distraction. United they stood, ready to protect their home.
The following day was filled with tension. As the men advanced, the wilderness struck back. Bears roared and wolves howled, sending a shiver through the men's spines. Their path was blocked by fallen trees and large boulders mysteriously appearing out of nowhere. Random tools went missing, and there was a sudden surge of pesky insect bites, all according to Auriel's plan.
At nightfall, the men sat around a fire, demoralized and confused. Suddenly, an eerie glow surrounded them. Auriel, who had been quietly observing from afar, decided it was time for direct intervention. He soared down, his majestic glow illuminating the dark forest.
'Why do you come to disrupt the harmony of our wilderness?' his voice echoed in the men's minds. The men looked around in surprise. They spotted the guardian owl, and their leader, a gruff man, stepped forward. 'We need these woods to build our homes and ships, owl,' he stated.
'But threatening our home is not the answer, human,' Auriel replied. 'Would you welcome those who tear apart your homes and take what they need? There is a way to live harmoniously. A little from nature, and a little care from you. Nature is not here to be plundered, but to coexist.'
The men looked at each other, taken aback. They realized the damage they had planned to bring upon these creatures and their homes. A sense of remorse filled their hearts. The leader nodded and claimed, 'We understand now, guardian owl. We promise to respect your home, your wilderness.'
True to their word, the men actually left the next morning, leaving the wilderness untouched. The forest dwellers cheered, their home was safe once again. Auriel, the Guardian of the Wilderness, the liaison between humans and animals, had saved them once more. He took a silent oath to ensure this paradise of theirs remained safe and protected, no matter what.
This tale of Auriel reminds us of the relevance of maintaining a balance between growth and nature. It signifies that every creature, small or large, plays a part in the elaborate system of life. Above all, it serves as a reminder that nature isn't merely a resource to exploit but a home to millions of creatures including us, humans.
