The Glowfey of Veridia🔊

Once upon a time, far away in the tranquil kingdom of Veridia, there was a forest inhabited by magical creatures known as Glowfey, who shone like stars in the midnight sky.

Glowfey lived within the ancient, sacred tree, Luxvera. The tree had been their shelter for centuries and was in charge of distributing the enigmatic Glow Seeds, the source of the Glowfey’s light. The Glowfey community was led by a wise old Glowfey- Old Root, revered for his knowledge and understanding of the sacred tree.

One day, an unexpected menace began to make its presence felt - the Luxvera was gradually diminishing its light, and hence the Glow Seeds were losing their gleaming brilliance. Concern rippled through the Glowfey populace. If the tree became dark, it would signify the end of the Glowfey tribe.

Old Root decided to consult the Tree of Wisdom, hidden in the deep recesses of Veridia, only known and visited by those seeking understanding greater than themselves. He commenced his long and perilous journey, having faith in his heart and hope in his eyes.

Old Root traveled through the treacherous dark forest, over mighty mountains, and across wild rivers, enduring days of cold, hunger and exhaustion. Finally, he arrived at the Tree of Wisdom, large and. magnificent, with leaves glittering like gold. He presented the predicament of Luxvera to the wise tree and seeked its guidance.

In response, a soft, soothing voice echoed, 'The answer is within you. Seek someone who has never seen the light, for only they can restore it'. Confused yet hopeful, Old Root expressed his gratitude and started his journey back home.

While journeying back, he discovered a tiny Glowfey, Anim, hidden in a cave. Unlike the others, Anim didn't glow. He was born without light and feared by others. Whereas, Old Root saw potential in Anim. He explained his encounter at the Tree of Wisdom, and Anim agreed to help, showing courage that surprised even him.

Back at Luxvera, they explained their plan to the Glowfey community. Although hesitant initially, the Glowfey agreed and assisted Anim connect with Luxvera. Concentrating his deepest desires on the restoration of the tree, Anim reached out and touched Luxvera. Immediately, a bright glow enveloped him, and he started glowing, illuminating everything around him. The luxvera too, sparked back into its former glorious self, even more radiant and beautiful. The Glowfey cheered and celebrated as the Glow Seeds began to regain their brilliance and warmth.

Confused to see himself glowing, Anim looked at Old Root who smiled and explained, 'When the tree said, 'only those who have not seen the light can restore it,' it meant that the power to resurrect the light was within someone who had lived in darkness but had a heart filled with hope and brightness. The tree recognized your purity and strong will and chose you.'

The Darkness in Anim had saved the Glowfey tribe and, in the process, discovered his true self. Anim turned out to be a hero, his bravery admired by all and his story, an inspiration to generations of Glowfey. The legend of Anim was told by every parent to their Glowfey child, his story becoming a beacon of hope and emphasizing that sometimes it's our imperfections that hold the hidden power to not only shine brightly but help others do the same.
