The Forgotten Eclipse

Once, in a realm far beyond human imagination, hidden behind the folds of reality, was a kingdom named Spherus. This universe was split into two realms - Aether, the kingdom of light, and Erebus, the kingdom of darkness. The denizens of both regions were not enemies, but their natures forbade them from inhabiting the same land. The realm of Aether enjoyed the constant light while Erebus was smothered in eternal night. Yet, they were in balance, the inhabitants cohabiting in peace, maintaining a symbiotic relationship.
King Sol, the ruler of Aether and Queen Luna of Erebus were custodians of this delicate balance. King Sol, radiated a brilliant glow, illuminating the cosmos. Queen Luna, on the other hand, was a cool & serene entity who ruled her darkened kingdom with grace. King Sol and Queen Luna were not made to dwell together, yet their hearts desired the impossible.
Once every millennia, the universe allowed the convergence of these realms, creating a rare event known as the Cosmic Eclipse. It was beyond beautiful when King Sol's intense light was complemented by Queen Luna's calming darkness. Their subjects would stop whatever they were doing to witness this union. However, the King and Queen revered this event for a different reason. It was the only moment in time, that they could meet.
The last Cosmic Eclipse was something the realms eagerly awaited. However, the event did not happen when it should have. The inhabitants of both realms panicked. The stable law of nature suddenly changed. Confusion and chaos quickly spread. Queen Luna, as serene and as calm as ever, tried to alleviate her subjects' fear, but internally she was just as disturbed.
Meanwhile, in Aether, King Sol was confused. His beings could survive without the eclipse, but the thought of not seeing Luna caused an emotional turmoil within him. He decided he could not be idle. As much as it was forbidden, as much as it was dangerous, he decided to journey to Erebus.
Armed with his celestial armor made of stardust and a crown fiery as the sun itself, he embarked on his quest. Reaching the boundaries of Erebus, darkness started to creep into his light. Pushing through, he reached the castle of the night. Luna, surprised and delighted, greeted Sol with welcoming arms. Their reunion, although under grave circumstances, brought smiles to their faces.
The kingdom of Erebus marveled at the brightness King Sol brought, for they had never seen anything like it. The citizens watched in awe, their fear momentarily forgotten. Luna guided Sol throughout her kingdom and they discussed why the Cosmic Eclipse might not have taken place.
Their search led them to the ancient scriptures which mentioned the Cosmic Eclipse. As they read through, they discovered that their love, strong and enduring, was the key to the Cosmic Eclipse. This revelation astounded them. Through their union, their love, they held the power to control the convergence.
Together, they focused their energies, their love, casting a wave throughout their realms. A shudder passed through the universe, the Cosmic Eclipse was about to occur. Both Aether and Erebus watched with bated breath as the light and darkness began to blend. The beauty of it left everyone spellbound.
King Sol and Queen Luna appeared underneath the Eclipse, looking at their subjects. Tears of happiness rolled down their cheeks. Their millenniums-old wish was fulfilled. From then onwards, the Cosmic Eclipse occurred as expected, filling both their realms with beauty and keeping their balance intact. Their love story became a tale spoken of across Spherus, reminding them the importance of love and understanding between different entities.
