The Falling Star

In a mystical land of Paetra, atop crystal mountains and through emerald forests lived a young girl named Ella. Ella was unusual. Unlike her townsfolk who were strong, gruff miners, she was petite, with an iridescent eyes, and her hair had the gleaming hue of raw silver.
Ella was, you guessed it, a dreamer. She yearned for adventures and discoveries. In search of them, she would frequent the adjacent forest, exploring its endless charm. However, she returned home despondent, for there were no adventures to be found, only the beauty of nature which she already knew too well.
One night, while bathing under the constellation of stars, Ella saw a vibrant beam streak through the night sky, she had seen falling stars before, but this one was different, it was landing nearby. Filled with excitement she followed the trail of immense light, running towards the horizon.
Reaching there, she found not a star but a boy, a gleaming boy who emitted light so bright that Ella had to squint her eyes to see. It was Astra, a celestial being. He told her he fell from the sky, from the constellation of Auriga. He explained, he'd angered his celestial brothers by spending too much time watching over the earth, envying the emotions earthlings expressed, something the stars knew nothing about.
Ella invited Astra home, promising to introduce him to feelings he'd viewed from afar. Her folks were amazed by Astra's presence. However, seeing how the celestial illuminated their dark mines, they welcomed him. In return, he lit their entire town with his radiance, allowing them to mine even during the nocturnal hours.
The days passed, Astra and Ella became inseparable. She showed him the beauty of human emotions: the joy of laughter, the warmth of love, the tears of sorrow. He, in turn, showed her the power of light and stars. They were an unusual pair, fitting together like day and night.
Meanwhile, in the celestial plain, the constellation of Auriga was dimming without Astra. Alarmed, celestial beings decided to summon Astra back. They illuminated the sky with numerous shooting stars, alarming Ella and the townsfolk. Sensing his celestial brothers' call, Astra decided to return, as he did not want his brothers to fall from the sky as he did.
This decision shook Ella. She did not want to lose Astra, but she knew that the stars belonged to the sky and her celestial love had to go back. With a heavy heart, she bid him goodbye. As Astra returned to the sky, he left a piece of his light inside Ella and promised to visit her once every year during the meteor shower.
Though heartbroken, Ella understood love's greatest virtue - freedom. As a token of Astra's love, she discovered she had the ability to glow in the darkest of nights. She used this power to illuminate her town that grew into a city, making it a beacon of light and hope in the far corners of Paetra.
The story of Ella and Astra became the town's legend, sung by bards, and told by grandmothers to their grandchildren. The tale of how a celestial star fell for a mortal girl taught the townsfolk the essence of love, of longing, of loss, and of hope.
Once every year, when the shooting stars garnished the sky and the meteor shower was at its peak, a star fell, waited for a moment, and then darted back to the sky. Ella always knew, it was Astra, reminding her and the townsfolk of their incredible celestial love.
