The Edge Of Tomorrow

Once upon a time, in a solitude-stricken kingdom known as Dystopia, the king lived devoid of any happiness. His wife had died while giving birth to their only son, Prince Alessandro. Dejected, the king engrossed himself into the arduous duties of the kingdom, completely shutting emotions out of his life, barely noticing his growing son. The atmosphere in the castle was grim, the smile on the young prince's face was lost, much like the bright stars against the dark night sky. Almost an orphan, Alessandro had no companions except the vast empty castle and his loneliness.
As days turned into months and months into years, the fair and broad-shouldered prince was not the adorable, chubby-cheeked child anymore. Still, he held a certain charm with his deep-set charcoal eyes reflecting wisdom beyond his age and his stoical silence. One day, while wandering around the castle, he found an ancient room, unknown, untouched, and abandoned for centuries. The room was dusty and dimly lit, overshadowing centuries-old papers, parchments, and strange objects. Among everything, a peculiar sapphire pendant on the decaying wooden table caught his attention. He felt an inexplicable connection with it, a pull so strong that he couldn't resist.
In the quietude of his chamber that night, inspecting the pendant under the flicker of his bedside candle, he felt a strange warmth. As he clasped it around his neck, he felt his surroundings blur and swirl, and with a sudden jolt of energy, he found himself standing under a vast open sky. The architecture of the buildings, the attire of the people, everything seemed different, as though he had traveled centuries into the future.
In the following days, he discovered the pendant's power that could traverse time. Every single day, he traveled to the future, discovering new advancements, cultures, fashion, and relationships. He was introduced to a new ideology of equality, compassion, and democracy. This new world offered him something he had yearned for all his life; warmth and acceptance.
During these time travels, he met Bella, a vibrant, intelligent and beautiful woman. With every clandestine meeting under the cherry blossom tree, cups of coffee shared in the quaint corner of a modern cafe, they fell in love. Bella's acceptance of his eccentricity and his appreciation of her intelligence made them a perfect pair. But Alessandro carried a heavy secret in his heart, the truth of his existence.
One fated day, as they sat under the same cherry blossom tree, Alessandro decided to reveal his reality to Bella. He expected shock and disbelief, but Bella accepted him just as he was, a prince from the past traveling to the future through a magical pendant.
But as days passed, the sadness of their unbearable circumstance dawned upon them. Alessandro belonged to a time where Bella could not survive, and Bella belonged to an era Alessandro was not born. Their love seemed to be doomed, confined to the ongoing and the lapsing of time.
Determined to change their destiny, Alessandro consulted the grey witch of his time, the old hag who lived on the outskirts of Dystopia. After listening to his tale, the witch granted them a potion that had the power to make Bella a part of his time. However, it demanded a sacrifice. To live in Alessandro's time, Bella had to surrender her memories.
After a tumultuous conversation, Bella agreed to drink the potion. The love they shared was strong enough to overcome the hurricane time threw at them. With every sunset, Bella's memories faded, and the scar of separation healed. With that, Bella became a part of Dystopia and Alessandro's life.
Their love story changed the kingdom. The king, who had been living behind the walls of his grief, saw his son's happiness and felt a surge of reawakening. The castle that had been submerged in silence and indifference for centuries finally echoed with laughter, love, and life anew. Dystopia was no longer a dystopian land. Alessandro and Bella nurtured the kingdom with the wisdom acquired from the future, love kindled in their hearts, turning it into a Utopia.
Despite the hardships and the inherent pain of time, they worked relentlessly to replace the grey shadows of the past with the vibrant hues of the future, thus changing their destiny. For they knew, no ordeal was greater than love, and love was the greatest magic of all.
