In the distant future, after Earth had exhausted its resources, humanity began its journey to the cosmos on ship engines powered by nuclear fission. There, they established new planets for human colonisation, interstellar trade routes, and peaceful co-sale with unseen alien civilizations. One man, Liam Green, a renowned space mariner, owned a ship named 'Maiden Voyage,' which he navigated with precision, wisdom, and courage. This is his adventurous tale.
Liam Green was a distinguished Stellar Mariner. He was tall, lean, with a stern face etched with lines hardened by age and years of traversing galactic expanse. He was a man of few words, preferring the hum of the ship engines and the infinity of cosmic beauty over idle chatter.
One day, while exploring an uncharted territory, his ship's alarms blared warning of severe spatial instabilities. Evidently, his ship had unknowingly steered towards a massive black hole. With titanic effort, he diverted his ship's path, narrowly escaping death. Unknown to him, this event resulted in the first meeting between humans and an ethereal life-form far more advanced than any civilization known to humanity.
The 'Maiden Voyage' emerged from the vortex far away from the familiar space lanes. Upon gaining bearings, Liam found himself surrounded by a fleet of luminous, intricately structured spaceships. These ethereal structures were captained by Entities—transparent, almost spectral beings of a higher plane of existence. They communicated through thought-transference, presenting a language barrier nearly impossible to overcome. However, human will finds ways in unfathomable situations.

In his solo defiance of IUN, Liam traversed dangerous space lanes filled with pirates, derelict automated security systems, and volatile starfields. Soon, his reputation grew amongst the spacefarers as 'The Rogue Mariner, breaker of cosmic barriers.’
Eventually, he reached the Cordelia Belt. He dodged asteroid fields, gravity waves, and extracted the Ixion Crystals. All this while maintaining a façade of conducting regular interstellar trade to divert IUN’s attention.
Seeing his heroic deeds, several other independent space mariners joined him. Together, they carried out multiple runs to retrieve more crystals, marking a silent rebellion against their own kind to preserve another.
Finally, with a sufficient stock of Ixion Crystals, Liam piloted the 'Maiden Voyage' back to the Entity fleet. The crystal’s cosmic energy breathed life back into their dying civilization.
Grateful, the Entities shared a fragment of their advanced knowledge with Liam and his fellow mariners. On his return, despite breaching the directive, the IUN quietly accepted this superior technology, unable to ignore its potential.
