The Chronicles of the Forgotten Kingdom

Once upon a time, deep in the heart of the Oakenwald forest, there thrived a kingdom known as Veridis. The kingdom was home to both men and mythical creatures, prospering in joyful harmony, united under the wise rule of King Eldrin. However, this peaceful kingdom has all but vanished from history as if consumed by the forest itself. This is the story of that forgotten kingdom.
King Eldrin ruled with a firm but kind hand. He was known to be a fair and just ruler, treating his citizens with the same respect whether they were human or mystical creature. His kingdom was renowned far and wide for his laws, which were always fair yet firm, and his council, consisting of both men and mythical beings of high stature.
The heart of the kingdom was the Royal Veridian maze, a labyrinth built with towering green hedges that danced in the merry sunlight. At the center of this maze was the Mirror Pond, a crystalline water body with magical properties known only to the inhabitants of Veridis. It was said to reflect not just one's physical form, but their innermost desires and fears as well.
King Eldrin had a beautiful and enchanting daughter, Princess Elara. The princess was the jewel of Veridis with her hair as bright as the morning sun and her eyes as deep and blue as the ocean. Like her father, she had a kind spirit, always looking out for the welfare of the kingdom's inhabitants.
One day, however, the peace in Veridis was shattered. A dark entity known only as Moros began to spread his darkness throughout the kingdom. He was envious of the peace and prosperity in Veridis, and, in his spite, wanted to consume it all together.
King Eldrin, being a wise ruler, knew that they no match for Moros in terms of sheer power. Yet, he also knew that light was the only way to eradicate darkness. Eldrin’s laws held up the light of unity and peace in Veridis, but the light that resisted Moros’s dark intentions was Princess Elara's pure and selfless heart.
Having received this prophecy from the Mirror Pond, Elara sets out on a journey to the darkest reaches of Oakenwald. With the help of Lorelei, a sly but loyal faerie, and Thorne, a determined wolf-shifter, Elara faced countless trials set by Moros to deter her path towards his lair.
Through every trial, Elara never faltered nor wavered. Her kindness enveloped even the darkest creatures in the forest, and they, in turn, helped her in her journey. After what seemed like a timeless endeavor, they finally reached Moros’s lair.
With unwavering courage, Elara confronts Moros. Undeterred by his towering presence and his contemptuous sneer, she tells him of the peace and harmony in Veridis that has touched every life, that has given them a sense of purpose and happiness. She shines the light of her selfless heart on him, burning brighter than any flame.
Surprisingly, Moros's darkness begins to wither. His dark form starts to dissipate, and the nefarious entity was no more. In his place stood a tortured soul, blinded by his envy and spite. Feeling pity for him, Elara forgives him and offers him, a fresh start.
Returning to her kingdom with a redeemed soul, she is hailed as a heroine, and Veridis rejoices in the return of peace. The kingdom stands as a beacon of unity and harmony, its tale echoing through Oakenwald, forever eternally alive in their hearts. Over time, the tales of Veridis faded from the memory of the world, blurring the lines between myth and history, but its essence, its lessons, will stay alive forever, whispering in the wind that rustles the Oakenwald trees.
