The Aria of the Aurora

Once upon a time, in a faraway land nestled between snow-laden mountains and dense forests, there existed a little kingdom named Arcellia. This fairyland was known far and wide for its brightly illuminated skies, painting beautiful arrays of colours as if an artist had splashed his palette across the canvas of the cosmos. It was the Aurora Borealis, but in Arcellia, it was simply known as 'The Great Light'. This mystical light was the soul of the kingdom, illuminating the darkest winters, guiding lost travellers, and cheering up sorrowful hearts with its soft, hued glow. But this was not just a mere natural phenomenon. This was an incredible symphony of nature and magic.
Arcellia was ruled by a noble King Alaric, who was respected by all for his just reign and loved for his gentle heart. But the heart of the story isn’t King Alaric, but rather his beautiful daughter, Princess Evelyn, possessor of an unusual magic. Princess Evelyn had the enchanting power to sing to 'The Great Light'.
Evelyn was born during the most spectacular display of 'The Great Light', a coincidence that was deemed as anything but. She was seen as the child chosen by the light itself. As she grew, it was evident that she had a celestial connection with Aurora; her enchanting voice had the extraordinary power to make the lights dance to her melody. This uncanny phenomenon was called 'The Aria of the Aurora'.
Evelyn was beloved by the people, not just for her ability, but because of her benevolent heart and kind spirit. Life was harmonious in Arcellia, with Evelyn's Aria echoing through the mountains, luring 'The Great Light' into a celestial ballet. Until one day, the Kingdom faced an unforeseen misfortune; a terrible leviathan rose from the frozen sea that bordered Arcellia, threatening its existence. The creature was neither affected by the kingdom's valiant knights nor the mystic sorcerers.
King Alaric, helpless, called his daughter. Guided by hope, Princess Evelyn bravely climbed the highest peak against the raging storm. As the wind howled and snowflakes danced around her, she raised her voice above the tempest, singing to 'The Great Light'. As if heeding her call, Aurora stirred, colouring the foreboding darkness with its mesmerising hues. Evelyn’s voice resonated, commanding the sky. Silent gasps filled the air as the 'Great Light' morphed, descending as a brilliant beam, straight into the leviathan.
Following a deafening roar, the leviathan disintegrated into a shower of sparkles, fizzing out into the stormy sea. Then a serene silence fell. The sky healed with the hues of the Aurora once again, the stars twinkling like jewel-encrusted crowns. Arcellia was saved. Evelyn, exhausted but victorious, descended the mountain to a kingdom brimming with cheers and joyous tears.
With every following winter, Evelyn's music to the 'Great Light' served as a reminder to all of the harmonic bond between nature and Arcellia. She was no longer just a princess, but an everlasting beacon of hope. Till today, every rend of the Aurora across the globe in our world is a humble indication of Evelyn's harmonious duet with nature.
King Alaric, in reverence, declared an annual 'Aurora Night' in honour of Evelyn's valiant act. On the day, the people of Arcellia gather to celebrate, filling the air with various melodies, inviting 'The Great Light' to dance above them. They sing their troubles, joys, pleas, and hopes into the sky, bearing belief that the Aurora listens, capturing the essence of every emotion, like a dance frozen in the sky.
Excitement lives in their heart as the sky performs its magnificent ballet. For they believe, as long as the Aria pierces the darkness of the sky, their harmonious existence with the magic of nature will prevail, just as Princess Evelyn had shown them. The Princess may have won the war against the leviathan, but her true victory lay in the hearts of the people she touched with her melodies in unison with the Aurora.
And so, the legend of 'The Aria of the Aurora' lives on, every time someone looks up into the Aurora Borealis sky, they feel the comforting presence of Princess Evelyn's voice, singing in unison with the symphony of celestial lights. One cannot help but imagine her atop of a mountain, singing to the sky, beckoning the ethereal Aurora to come dance to her melody as they silently watch an exquisite cosmic waltz unfold.
