Story of the Dream Dragon

Sitting atop an isolated hill in the heart of England lay a patchwork quilt of a village named Lower End. From above, it was as if a master painter had taken his pastel palette and painted small dots of colors in a vast green field. Each dot represented a unique house, and each house buzzed with life, secrets, and stories; just like the Allens’ brick house tucked away at the corner of Lower End.
Sarah Allen and her husband Thomas Allen lived in the brick house with their ten-year-old son, Theo. Sarah was an elementary school teacher, while Thomas worked as the local carpenter for Lower End.
One evening as Sarah was grading her students' work, she noticed an unusual picture that Theo had drawn—a gigantic winged creature casting a shadow over their quaint brick house. When she asked Theo about it, he described it as a 'dream dragon', a creature from his repetitive dreams that, as the sun set, would swoop low, almost grazing roof tiles before soaring over the stars. He admitted secretly longing to fly on the dragon's back and explore mystical lands.
Moved by her son's vivid imagination, Sarah shared the little tale of 'dream dragon' with her husband. An idea sparked in Thomas's mind, and he decided to bring Theo's dream to life. So, he ventured into the adjoining woodland for the perfect timber. For weeks he toiled away, making sense of the intricate designs Theo sketched of his 'Dragon's perch'.
One fine morning, Thomas invited Theo into the backyard. Theo's jaw dropped as he beheld a life-sized model of a dragon, standing majestically against the backdrop of the pre-dawn sky. There, in the middle of the creature's back, was a seat - or as Thomas put it - the Dragon's Perch.
Thrilled with the present, Theo would spend long summer afternoons atop the dragon, pretending to swoop over lush forests, vast seas, and towering mountains. Residents from Lower End also began to visit the Allen's garden, where kids could pretend to feed the dragon apples and adults could admire the craftsmanship and hear the story.
Within weeks, the Dragon's Perch became a landmark. Visitors from neighboring villages came for picnics, and photos were taken with the infamous Dream Dragon. People enjoyed hearing Theo tell his tales of soaring above endless forests, diving beneath rolling waves and chasing comet tails beneath twinkling stars.
The Dragon's Perch not only gave wings to Theo but also brought the entire village of Lower End closer. It became a symbol of childhood imagination brought to life— a beacon for all those who wished to rekindle their imaginative spirits. And there, perched atop the vibrant pastels of Lower End's hill was the brick house that homed a dragon and made dreams come true.
