Somewhere in the Land of Dreams
Once upon a time, in a realm where dreams and reality intertwined, a world more surreal than ours, existed a place known as Serenis. This place was not visible to the naked eye. Only when asleep, human beings could reach Serenis through their dreams. It was a land ruled by a kind and wise king, King Morpheus.
King Morpheus had a young and beautiful daughter named Drea. She had inherited her father's sense of justice and intelligence. Drea possessed a unique power, the ability to manipulate dreams. Yet she was humble about her ability and always used it for the benefit of her people. She would ease their distressful dreams and ensure they awoke with a light heart and a calm mind.
Besides Drea, the other significant character in our story is a stranger from a different world, named Leo. Leo was a lonely, dreamy artist from Earth, often lost in his thoughts and fantasies. He was always fascinated by dreams, often sketching his dreams, which were vivid and detailed. However, he was unaware that his dreams were not just fantasies, but glimpses of Serenis.
One night, Leo had a dream about Serenis being engulfed in darkness, a nightmare, so vivid that it disturbed him deeply. The nightmare was about the Evil Sorcerer Ragno, who was banished from Serenis many years ago, returning to plunge it into eternal nightmares.
Drea sensed the approaching danger from Leo's dream, and through her powers, she connected with him. She explained the situation and instructed him to bring to Serenis, the 'Dreamstone' from earth. She told him the stone resides in the most feared dark forest on Earth, known as Darkea. According to legends, the stone could shine the brightest light, and deter even the darkest nightmares, but for that someone needs to overcome his greatest fears.
Leo, without any hesitation, agreed to help. He ventured into the gloomy forest of Darkea. He encountered grotesque creatures lurking in the shadows, strange voices echoing, and phantom hands reaching out. His heart pounded, but spurred by the desperation to save Serenis and guided by Drea, he overcame his fears. After several hardships, he finally found the Dreamstone glowing with a divine light.
Drea pulled Leo into Serenis with the Dreamstone. Together, they faced Sorcerer Ragno. A fierce battle ensued amongst their dreams and nightmares. With each nightmare the sorcerer threw at them, they fought back with dreams of courage and hope. Finally, Leo held the Dreamstone high, and its light pierced through the darkness, banishing Ragno and his eternal nightmares forever.
Serenis was once again steeped in the serenity it was known for. Its people, no longer fearful of tormenting nightmares, celebrated in joy, feasting, and jubilations. Drea thanked Leo; her eyes damp with emotions of gratitude. Before he left, Leo handed Drea a sketch - a simple yet deeply meaningful piece heβd made during his visit to Serenis - an image capturing the struggle and eventual victory over nightmares.
Back on earth, Leo woke, clutching the sketch in his hand. Now, he knew, the world he dreamt wasn't just a figment of his imagination, but a reality beyond human understanding. He realized his sketches were more than just an expression of dreams β they were memories of a world that existed in the realm of dreams.
From then on, Leo no longer felt alone. His heart was filled with memories of Serenis, a place where he was a hero, a saviour. Each night, through dreams, he visited Drea and his friends in Serenis. And each day, he lived on Earth, painting his dreams, his memories of a dreamy world, named Serenis.
