Skyward Dreams

Once upon a time, in a bustling city of modern towers and endless digital screens, lived a young boy named Edgar. Edgar was not like other boys. He didn't care for video games or pop music. He had a fascination with the sky, with all its celestial bodies, the feathery clouds, and endless mysteries.
Edgar's obsession was fueled by grandpa Jack's tales. The old man was a retired astronaut and filled Edgar's mind with stories of the cosmos, of walking on the moon, and the feelings of weightlessness in space. Every evening, nestled under the star-studded blanket of the night, they studied the constellations, devouring stories of the cosmos that other kids couldn't comprehend.
The city, however, had very little to offer a star-gazer. The light pollution blurred the edges of the star-soaked sky, making it difficult to observe. To get a clearer view, Edgar and Grandpa Jack would often drive to the hills outside the city where the cosmos stretched out like an open book, sequined with sparkling stars.
This was Edgar's sanctuary, where his dreams took flight towards the stars. He started spending countless hours studying astronomy books, acquiring knowledge about space equipment- telescopes, rockets, satellites. His bedroom walls were peppered with pictures of galaxies, nebulae, and luminous astral bodies that gazed back at him. His quiet determination insidiously transformed into an unyielding passion.
Years passed and Edgar's fascination turned into obsession and then into a firm goal. After finishing school, he enrolled in Astrophysics at 'Stanton College'. His dedication and astuteness won him not only academic excellence but also respect among peers and professors.
After graduating, his commitment to his dream took him to the 'International Space Academy,' where he met like-minded individuals. Brian and Sandra became his closest allies. Together, they submerged themselves in ardous training and endless simulations, dreaming of the infinite expanse of the cosmos.
Edgar's ambitions got closer to reality when he received the news of his selection for a mission to Mars. His happiness knew no bounds. The dream that started under the celestial ceiling with Grandpa Jack was now going to lift him among the stars. He worked tirelessly to prepare his physique and mind for the seven-month journey.
The day of the launch was a mix of emotions. His heart pounded with anticipation and uncertainty. His eyes scanned the enormous rocket against the azure sky. As the countdown began, a surge of adrenaline shot through him. Edgar looked back at the crowd, his eyes meeting Grandpa Jack's old yet hopeful gaze. And then, he stepped into the spacecraft, fastening himself in, his heart beating in his chest like a wild drum.
The rocket roared to life, and the ground shook beneath. And in a blend of flames and thunderous roars, Edgar shot towards his dream, leaving the world behind. The feeling was indescribable, equal parts terrifying and exhilarating. As Edgar looked out the window, Earth shrunk to a glowing blue sphere
He finally understood what it was to be an astronaut. When he wasn't busy with his duties, Edgar would take a moment to float, weightless, peering out the little round window at the infinite space. These views reminded him of the star-gazing nights spent with Grandpa Jack.
The journey to Mars remained indelibly etched in Edgar's mind. The joy of stepping onto Martian soil, viewing the Earth from an alien world, was overwhelming. It didn't feel like victory; instead, it felt like a milestone in man's endless pursuit of knowledge, his unquenchable thirst for exploration.
Edgar had reached for the stars and touched them, whereby proving that dreams can indeed, translate to reality. His journey is still narrated in the echoing chambers of Stanton College, inspiring several youngsters to believe in their dreams and reach for the stars. And every time a young astronomer looks up towards the heavens, Edgar's journey serves as a torch, guiding them skywards.
