Once upon a time, nestled in a small village at the border of the vast Gobi desert, lived a humble woman named Zhen. This wasn't a village of ordinary people; these were the protectors of the 'Golden Cactus,' a sacred plant said to have mystical powers, passed down through generations.
Zhen was a vibrant and charismatic woman of thirty, known throughout the village for her courage and wisdom. She was the village's Candlemaker, carefully crafting candles that not only provided light but also warmth in the cool desert nights.
The Golden Cactus was supposed to bloom once every hundred years, and that year marked the 100th. A grand celebration was planned with guests from the neighboring villages.
One day, while Zhen was collecting wax from the forest for her candles, she spotted a shadowy figure lurking near the Golden Cactus. She knew instantly that it was Wang, the notorious sand bandit who was known to plunder the nearby villages. He was after the Golden Cactus.
She ran towards Wang with a flow of adrenaline. Wang was startled and fled, leaving behind a few sand grains. Zhen noticed that the grains had a peculiar glow, similar to the Golden Cactus, and realized that they were the cactus's seeds.
