Pepperstone's Unseen Light
Once upon a time, in a bustling city named Pepperstone, every Simperday, the citizens would gather in the city square to hear stories from a traveling metanaut named Aria. The metanaut was a charismatic tale-teller who weaved stories from her travels across the known and unknown realms. One such enthralling tale is what we chronicle today, the tale of 'Pepperstone's Unseen Light'.
As the Pepperstonians settled around Aria on that notable Simperday, the air was filled with palpable anticipation. They adored Aria’s tales filled with mystics, spirits, heroes, and magic. Aria, perched comfortably on the city's central stage, began the story.
'Many moons ago, in our very own Pepperstone, not as bustling and vibrant as it is now, but quieter and simpler lives people led. Not known to many, in our common city resided an unseen world, that of spirits. The realm teeming with entities - good and bad, our world shuffled with theirs in a harmonious dance of existence,' she began.
The crowd swelled in excitement; this tale was of their own home. Aria continued, unravelling the story. 'There was a lonely, little girl named Selene. An orphan by fate, she lived in the oldest and creakiest house of Pepperstone. This house, unbeknownst to our townsfolk, was the gateway between the two realms.'
Little Selene, she narrated, could perceive the spirits. She got along effortlessly with the good spirits, treating them as friends, even family. However, an evil spirit named Moros loomed around her, the meek and frightful.
Selene, with the guidance of her spectral friends, sought counsel with the Guardian Spirit, Zephyros. Wanting to protect Pepperstone, Zephyro wished to seal the gateway for good. The endeavor was risky, for it demanded a human and a spirit to unify and inject the pure Light of Unity into the threshold of the realms.
The pure-hearted Selene volunteered. She was scared yet determined, hoping to protect her home and her friends on either side. Armed with courage, she united with the spirit Zephyros, each anchoring the other as they ventured together to confront Moros.
The battle was fierce. Moros, driven by malice, sought to intersect the sealing process and burst into the realm of humans. However, Selene and Zephyros, buoyed by the collective hope of the entire realm, overpowered him. They successfully sealed the threshold, restricting it to mere whispers and echoes between beings from two realms.
In the climax, with the final surge of pure light, Selene and Zephyros became a beam of radiant light that shot up into the sky, sealing themselves in a timeless state. The light, unseen but always felt, continues to protect Pepperstone to this day. The tale of bravery, unity and sacrifice became immortal through the centuries, narrated as the city's unique unseen light tale.'
As Aria concluded, the crowd sat, silent and wide-eyed, awed by the mystic tale of their own land. They understood why Pepperstone had an air of serenity, even amidst its liveliness. The unseen light, the guardian spirit preserving their tranquility, would forever remind them of the brave little girl and her sacrifice.
