Once Upon A Moonlit Night
Back in the days of old, in a realm just far enough to be unreachable yet near enough to be a part of our most profound hopes and dreams, existed a picturesque village named Rosethorn. A story unique as its name was born in this tiny, yet magically enchanting village, the tale of 'Once Upon A Moonlit Night.'
Our tale begins with a humble yet spirited young man named Erebos. Erebos was the village blacksmith’s son; he was a man of simple tastes yet strong principles. Loved by the townsfolk for his kind heart and amiable nature, Erebos was adored by all. He had a special bond with the night, enchanted by the resplendent moon and the serene tranquility of the dark blanket of the sky, a respite from the day's toil and hustle. Erebos, so dazzled by the night's allure, would often wander around the village under the moonlit sky. Laying on the greens beneath the sky, Erebos would wonder: was there a parallel world beyond our own, hidden in the mystery of the kaleidoscopic cosmos?
Meanwhile, ensconced in the realm of the celestial, existed a sparkling moon nymph named Seraphina. Her beauty was as extraordinary as the constellation she hailed from, her laughter chimed like cosmic winds, her eyes shimmered with twinkling stars. Seraphina, however, was burdened with a melancholic longing for the mortal realm. She felt an inexplicable bond with the blue planet and its dwellers and yearned desperately to be a part of it.
One fateful night, as Erebos was laying on the greens, perhaps a little more restless than usual, his eyes met a dazzling falling star racing towards earth. It happened so suddenly and magnificently, leaving a dream-like aura. Hidden within this awe-inspiring spectacle was Seraphina, who had descended from the moon, her radiant glow reducing as she neared the earth.
Mesmerized, Erebos followed the path of the falling star only a few meters ahead, and there he found her, the moon nymph, lying unconscious on the mound of soft earth. Her glow was now barely a flicker. Erebos, astonished and concerned, took her to his home — an act of kindness that was small for him but meant the world to the wounded nymph.
As days turned into weeks, Seraphina found herself healing under the care of Erebos, while Erebos found himself falling in love with the mysterious lady he had saved. He was drawn by her ethereal beauty, her alien yet alluring charm, her intense longing for the mortal realm he took for granted. Bound by unspoken emotions and shared experiences, their hearts found a unique rhythm, a bizarre yet harmonious symphony.
However, the celestial realm missed its star, and the Moon God, Lunaris, descended upon earth withdrawing Seraphina, leaving behind a devastated Erebos who had his heartbreak splattered over the starry night sky.
Days of despair turned into weeks, weeks into months. The vibrant village blacksmith was now a silhouette, living solely on the memory of his star. But love, as powerful as it is, found its way back.
Yearning to be reunited with Erebos, Seraphina pleaded with Lunaris, offering to surrender her immortality. Intrigued by their love, Lunaris put forth a challenge - Erebos had to forge a star, an emblem of everlasting love, that mirrored the brilliance of the celestial stars.
Despite the near-impossible task, Erebos, powered by undying love, began forging. He poured all his emotions, tears, and tormented heartbeats into his work, finally creating a star as dazzling as Seraphina's eyes.
On a moonlit night, he presented the star. The heavens were moved - without a word, Lunaris relinquished Seraphina of her immortality and blessed them, creating an eternal constellation that symbolised their unyielding love.
Thus, this fable ends with a promise of love etched onto the night sky, displaying an ever-glowing testament of love's victory over adversities. It's a tale passed down generations in Rosethorn, a story that every night whispers to its people that true love, no matter how improbable, can conquer even the insurmountable hurdles.
