Marshal and The Sapphire Dragon

Marshal was an ordinary 9-year old; he loved pizza and soccer and hated bedtime. But there was something extraordinarily unique about him: His dreams had a curious little habit of coming true.
One night, the young lad dreamt of a majestic sapphire hued dragon named Filo who was trapped and lonely. Marshal woke up with an inexplicable urge to free Filo from his torment. He shared this with his best friend Lucy, who had a penchant for the weird and mysterious. With the combination of Marshal's dream-truth and Lucy's love for the strange, the two friends decided, they were going to rescue Filo.
They planned their journey based on the specifics of Marshal's dream; it led them into the forbidden forest on the outskirts of Pineville. The town's elder, Mayor Harris, had warned the townsfolk about the hidden dangers in the forest. But Marshal and Lucy were too driven to give heed. Kitted out with their school backpacks, torchlights, and a strong sense of purpose, the duo ventured into the enigmatic forest.
The forest was mesmerising as it was intimidating. Gigantic trees stretched out far into the sky, obscuring the sun. They walked for what seemed like hours until Marshal felt his sleep-born instincts guide him towards a hidden path. They slipped through the stealthy path, guided by the moon's silver light filtering through the looming branches aloft.
Suddenly, they stood before a colossal cave, the same cave from Marshal's dreams. With hesitant steps and hitched breaths, they entered the mouth of the cave. Deeper inside, they saw him- Filo, the Sapphire dragon. His scales shimmered in the cavern's dim light, his eyes revealed a tale of sadness and isolation. He appeared intimidating, yet, the children felt an odd sense of familiarity.
Marshal approached Filo, giving Lucy a reassuring glance. He reached out and touched the majestic beast, whispering words of comfort. For a moment, the cave was teeming with anticipation. A magical energy swept through the cave, swirling around Marshal. Then, with a brilliant flash of blue light, Filo’s chains disappeared, and the dragon's eyes sparkled with relief.
Filo thanked Marshal and Lucy, his voice resonating through the cavern. He told them he had been trapped by a vindictive wizard after he had denied to serve him. Marshal’s dream, as it turned out, was Filo’s silent plea for help.
As they exited the forest, the dawn was breaking. Filo, with the kids grasping his scales tightly, soared into the sky, painting the dawn sky with specks of sapphire hues. He returned them safely back their homes and promised to protect Pineville from above, a secret guardian cloaked in the morning mist.
Word soon caught on. The townsfolk were in awe of Marshal and Lucy's bravery and their incredible feat. Mayor Harris acknowledged the protection of the dragon and rescinded the boy's punishment for entering the forest. From that day onward, the children of Pineville slept without fear, knowing they were protected. And Marshal, he continued to dream, heralding a new world of extraordinary adventures for him and Lucy.
