Lyra, the Wishling who Transcended the Law

Once upon a time, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, there was an enchanting kingdom named Sylva, hidden from the eyes of the world. This kingdom was inhabited by tiny mythical creatures known as Wishlings.
Wishlings had a special power, the ability to grant wishes. They served the honorable purpose of maintaining equilibrium on Earth by granting good wishes to deserving humans.
The kingdom's peace was piloted by a wise and kind king, Zephyr, known for his neutrality, fairness, and profound understanding of human nature. With Zephyr's guidance, the Wishlings had the wisdom to determine which wishes should be granted, ensuring balance and harmony in the world.
Among these Wishlings, there was one young trainee named Lyra. Unlike other Wishlings, Lyra was intrigued by humans' curiosity, their hopes, dreams, and most notably their capacity for change. She often found herself deviating from her duties, wandering off to observe humans in their natural environment.
One day during her wanderings, Lyra came across a small hut marking the edge of the Amazon Rainforest. There, she discovered a young, frail human boy named Mateo. Although Mateo was just a child, life had dealt him a hard hand. He lived alone,
struggling to feed himself and fight against his illness.
Lyra was touched by Mateo's relentless spirit and warm-hearted nature. She felt an overwhelming desire to do something for him, despite being aware of the Wishlings’ rule: to not get emotionally attached to humans.
Being a trainee, Lyra had not yet mastered the ability to grant wishes, so she decided to do tiny favours for Mateo. She camouflaged herself during the day and helped him, gathering fruits, fixing his roof, and even amusing him by imitating the animals he loves.
However, as days passed, Lyra noticed Mateo’s health steadily declining. His wish for health was evident, and out of desperation, Lyra decided to break rules and intervene. Using all her energy and unmastered power with pure intent, Lyra tried to grant Mateo’s wish. But to her disappointment, her attempt failed, due to her inexperience and lack of power.
Back in the kingdom, Zephyr became aware of Lyra's deeds. Without delay, he summoned Lyra to face the consequences of her actions. As Lyra stood before her king, with tears in her eyes, she confessed everything and begged for Mateo’s life.
Zephyr, observing the sincerity and pure intentions of Lyra, decided to bend the rules. He granted Lyra the extra energy she needed. Touched by her devotion, he also gifted her a golden feather representing wisdom and higher purpose.
Lyra, humbled and grateful, returned to Mateo with renewed hope. She used her heightened power to grant Mateo's wish. As Mateo regained his health, he noticed the subtle changes that had transpired during his sickness. Although unaware of the Wishlings, he felt blessed and grateful, forever changing his perspective about life's blessings.
Back in Sylva, Lyra became the first Wishling to be granted the golden feather at such a young age. She emerged as a beacon of inspiration, a symbol of love and sacrifice for her fellow Wishlings.
As the news spread in the kingdom, other Wishlings too began to appreciate the beauty of human emotions, creating a beautiful bridge between the worlds unseen and seen. The harmony between Wishlings and Humans, though invisible to the human eye, continues to thrive, making our world a little more magical than we realize.
In the end, Lyra showed everyone in her kingdom, and beyond, that sometimes the magic isn't in granting wishes but in the selfless acts of giving and serving others. Sometimes it's not only about maintaining the balance but also about initiating change, even if it’s a rule. And most often, the purest of intentions can make the impossible, possible.
