Light of The Wandering Star
Once upon a time, in the far distant galaxy of Horam, floated a planet known as Kellion. This planet was unique, as it wasn't bound to any host star but roamed the cosmos independently. Hence, it featured a never-ending darkness and a perpetual cold temperature, that made it uninhabitable for most organisms, except for the Kellians, who were subsurface dwellers, had enormous eyes to see through the darkness, and could withstand the extreme cold. Thus, the planet was aptly known as The Wandering Star.
The Kellians were an ancient and wise race, known for their prowess in advanced technology and philosophy. However, the lack of natural light was a perennial mystery they were yet to unravel. This led to the birth of the legend of the 'Light Bringer'.
An ancient prophecy said that the one who could bring natural light to Kellion would be the true saviour, revered as the 'Light Bringer'. Kellians revered this prophecy and endeavoured to unravel its meaning. Although they had advanced technology, they still didn't have a source of natural light to replace their artificial sources.
One day, an extraordinarily bright young Kellian named Seraph appeared, claiming to have deciphered the prophecy. He believed that harnessing a nearby dwarf star could bring light to Kellion. Armed with determination, he ventured to make the cherished prophecy a reality.
Seraph started by explaining his thought to the great council of Kellion. He suggested that moving Kellion closer to the dwarf star by creating a gravitational pull could establish an orbit, thereby melting the surface ice and bathing the planet in natural light. Despite the enormity of the endeavour - which would require the planet's entire resource allocation - the council, seeing the spark in Seraph's eyes, decided to back him.
The greatest engineers, scientists and philosophers of Kellion worked tirelessly under Seraph's guidance. Months turned into years, and after immense hard work, they fabricated an enormous gravitational engine that could generate enough pull to attract the dwarf star. The day they were ready to launch the engine, the entire planet, even the usually aloof children and elders, held their breath.
The event, though marvellous, was fraught with danger. There was a possibility of getting the planet too close to the dwarf star, thereby burning it completely, or overshooting the required distance, thereby freezing it forever. But, Seraph stood calm, exhibiting trustworthy leadership. The gravitational engine was activated, and Kellion started moving astronomically towards the dwarf star.
Days passed, and the Kellians felt a warmth unknown to them. Their surface ice started to melt, revealing darker soil that absorbed the heat, further quickening the thawing process. A slow sunrise was seen for the first time on Kellion. Tears of joy rolled down every Kellian's cheeks as the first rays of natural light touched their skin. Their joy knew no bounds.
The prophecy came true, and the one to make it happen was none other than their very own Seraph. He became the celebrated 'Light Bringer', a hero revered in every home, every heart. The brave feat was sung in verses, tales were told, and legends were born. From that day on, Kellion was no longer a wandering star but a shining star, basking in the light of its dwarf star.
But, the light did much more than dispel the darkness; it lit the path to further progress. As the planet warmed, it unlocked new territories and resources. The Kellians discovered unique biologies that evolved in the extreme cold and dark, and their knowledge of the cosmos and life itself expanded.
Seraph's feat radiated the indelible lesson that darkness could always be turned into light with determined minds and brave hearts. Light of the Wandering Star was the tale that every new generation of Kellion would be born into - a tale of courage, determination, and unyielding optimism in using knowledge and will to change something fundamental about their world.
