Light of The Night
In the town of Northrose resided a sixteen-year-old boy named Enzo. Enzo was always distinguished from the other boys because of the peculiar quality he bore - he could communicate with animals. Moreover, his parents died when he was just a toddler, and old Martha, a kind-hearted old lady from the neighborhood, adopted him.
Martha knew about Enzo's extraordinary gift and always motivated him to embrace it. At the age of sixteen, Enzo encountered something unusual. One night, in his sleep, he saw a sparkly, beautiful, white horse - like no other he had ever seen. The horse introduced itself as Lyra, the Guardian of the Enchanted Forest. Lyra told Enzo about a devastating prophecy of a monstrous beast who would awaken and bring an end to all life in Enchanted Forest and Northrose. Lyra whispered that Enzo could stop this apocalypse due to his unique gift.
Enzo woke up, horrified and perplexed. He wondered if it was just his imagination or a true prophecy. He decided to confide in Martha about the dream. Martha, sensing the seriousness, advised Enzo to follow his instincts. So, Enzo summoned his friend, a falcon named Fel, to accompany him to the Enchanted Forest.
After a day's journey, they found Lyra, shimmering white in the moonlight, just as Enzo had seen in his dream. Lyra guided them to the Shield of Serenity which was blessed by the forest fairies that could put the monstrous beast back to sleep. However, it was protected by a series of challenges only a true guardian could pass.
Enzo, the animal whisperer, was put through three tasks. The first one was by a group of honeybees, who formed a confusing maze that Enzo had to cross. With his quick-thinking and the guidance of the bees, he managed to cross the maze. The second task was by an old tortoise named Tuno residing underwater. Tuno had the mysterious map etched on his shell leading to the Shield, but interpreting the map was a challenge. Using his distinct ability, Enzo communicated with Tuno, understood the map, and navigated to the location of the shield. The final task was to convince a grumpy old bear guardian of the shield named Brozo. He wasn't convinced that Enzo was worthy, but Enzo's humility and empathy won him over.
Enzo, Fel, and Lyra hurried back towards the Enchanted Forest with the Shield of Serenity. Time was short; the beast had started to awaken, causing chaos around the forest. Enzo could feel the pain of the animals, and it fueled his determination. As they reached the center of the forest, the monstrous beast roared, causing rampage.
With a brave heart, Enzo held up the Shield of Serenity. The shield emitted an intense light, encasing the beast. He commanded the beast to sleep, with a voice fuller than ever, his words booming across the forest. The beast, entranced by the luminosity of the shield, started shrinking, succumbing to the shield's power.
Soon, the monstrous beast shrank down to the size of an ant, imprisoned within a tiny crystal, just as Lyra had mentioned. As the last struggle of the beast ended, a wave of tranquility swept over the Enchanted Forest. The animals cheered Enzo and venerated him for his bravery and kindness. Lyra, expressing her gratitude for saving the forest and the town, declared Enzo as the Guardian of the Enchanted Forest.
Enzo returned to Northrose with Fel, where Martha awaited them anxiously. He narrated his perilous conquest with glistening eyes, feeling more confident and prouder of his gift. The Northrose people celebrated his victory, treating him as their saviour.
Enzo, the animal whisperer, had become not only the Guardian of the Enchanted Forest but a youth idol for the town of Northrose. His journey made him realize his potential, reinforcing that our differences make us special. From then on, Enzo, with new-found respect and confidence, pledged to become a guardian, not only for the Enchanted forest but for anyone who needed him.
