Lia's Art: The Prophecy Painter
Once upon a time, in a small village named Shengom, known for its landscapes that hosted vibrant hues during every season, lived a teenage girl named Lia. She was not an ordinary teenager; she was bestowed with a rare gift, the ability to paint the future.
She discovered her ability unintentionally when one day she painted a ripe wheat field before the harvesting season; surprisingly, the very next day, the village woke up to see golden wheat fields ready to be harvested. As Lia's Art began to paint true on the canvas of reality, people of Shengom developed respect and reverence for the young girl. Even though Lia's gift was used for the welfare of the village, she felt burdened by the great responsibility. Lia yearned for an inconsequential life where any mishap in her paintings wouldn't disturb the tranquility of her village.
One sunny afternoon, while Lia was indulged in painting the beautiful landscapes across her window, she felt a sudden cold shiver down her spine. The usual vibrant colours of her palette were replaced by shades of black, grey, and red. Her hand moved uncontrollably on the canvas, painting a picture that triggered a rush of fear in her heart. The canvas was now filled with the village's chilling depiction where the beautiful landscapes were devoured by a dark storm, the huts were burning, and the people were fleeing in fear.
As dread filled Lia's heart, she decided to share her vision with the village elder, Nain. Nain was renowned for his wisdom and knowledge across the neighboring villages. Nain assured Lia they would tackle this imminent danger together. Lia's tragic painting was displayed on the village square, and everyone was called to see it. The villagers were terrified and worried about the ominous storm in Lia's painting. However, they believed in the power of unity and decided to face the predicted adversity together.
Nain declared that everyone in the village would start preparing for the storm. The men started fortifying the huts, the women started preserving food and warm clothes, the children were given the task of gathering all the livestock in the village barn. Lia, on the other hand, sat beside Nain on a raised platform, her eyes locked on her horrendous painting.
Days turned into nights and nights into days, but the storm from Lia's painting did not arrive. Tension was mounting high among the villagers. On the seventh day, as the sun started setting, the sky adopted a gloomy shade, a storm started forming to the north of the village, exactly as Lia had painted. Fear gripped the heart of every villager but they all stood strong, ready to face the challenge.
The storm hit the village with all its wrath, the rain was pelting, the wind was howling, but standing beside each other, the villagers faced the storm. Lia's painting served as a saviour, helping them prepare for this catastrophic event beforehand.
As the sunrise marked a new day, the storm was over. The village was damaged but still standing. Hope soared in the hearts of the villagers. They were all safe, alive, there were a few wounds and many lessons.
Lia's heart was filled with joy and immense pride; she was able to save her village with her gift. The storm, which she once thought was a curse, had turned out to be a blessing in disguise. She realized her talent was not a burden but indeed, a blessing. She learnt to embrace it, accept it with an open heart and use it for the betterment of her village. Lia, the young girl who dreaded her magical talent, turned into a beacon of hope and courage for her village, Shengom.
Her tale was told for many generations, and Lia's Art became synonymous with prophecies, positivity and hope, reminding humanity the power of unity, preparation and acceptance.
