Journey to the Orb of Light
Once upon a time, in a desert kingdom, there existed an orb of light known as Yulemir, reputed to contain unimaginably magic powers. It was said to grant the desires of one who possessed a pure heart.
Our story begins with a humble weaver named Kaleb. Although Kaleb was not famed or wealthy, his pure heart and creative imagination were unparalleled. He never spent his evenings amongst crowds or merry banquets but found refuge in his peculiar tales of knights, princesses, dragons, and magical realms. He stitched these tales in the fabric of his creations and exhibited them in the annual art forum. Although his talent remained largely unrecognized, Kaleb never lost his fascination with these stories. He strongly believed that these stories were not mere figments of his imagination but were an integral part of the universe, waiting to be discovered.
One day, while weaving a tapestry depicting a knight courting a princess under a starlit sky, Kaleb found an old, tattered map intricately woven into the fabric, leading to the location of the Yulemir. Intrigued, Kaleb decided to venture out in search of this orb, hoping it could bring happiness to his impoverished town.
The map led Kaleb into the heart of the Tharnda forest, infamous for bewitching its travelers into a timeless slumber. With night approaching, Kaleb decided to camp and proceed with the journey at dawn. As he was about to fall asleep, he heard an eerie voice whispering the riddle, 'Move forward or perish in vain, answer my riddle to break the chain: What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years?'. The riddle kept him awake, but with the wisdom distilled from his numerous mystical tales, Kaleb solved the riddle, 'It's the letter 'm''. The forest then relinquished its chains, allowing him to proceed further.
The next hurdle was the Echoterra canyon, where one wrong foot could result in fatal echoes leading to deadly rockfalls. Here, Kaleb encountered the second riddle, 'The more you take, the more you leave behind. What am I?' Remembering a similar paradox in one of his stories, Kaleb correctly answered, 'Footsteps'. Just like before, the path cleared, allowing Kaleb safe passage through the canyon.
Finally, Kaleb reached a cave that was supposedly housing the Yulemir. However, he found nothing. Then, a radiant being appeared before him and posed the final riddle, 'What cannot be seen, cannot be felt, cannot be heard, and will not be smelt. It lies behind stars and under hills, and empty holes it fills. It comes first and follows after, ends life, kills laughter. What am I?' Kaleb, racked his brain and realized the answer, 'Darkness'. The radiant being disappeared, and the Yulemir emerged, gracefully hovering over a pedestal.
With a heart full of joy, Kaleb reached out for the Yulemir and remembered all the hardships he had braved throughout his journey. As he touched the orb, it glowed brilliantly and then disappeared, leaving Kaleb puzzled. Yet, as he returned to his village, he discovered that the Yulemir had indeed granted his wish — his village was transformed, no longer impoverished but thriving. Every tapestry he had hand-woven, depicting his tales, were now recognized by all as masterpieces of art, and Kaleb was hailed as a hero. He realized then, it was not the orb of light, but his journey and the wisdom he gained had brought about this change, thus living the rest of his days in joy and content.
