Journey to the Edge of the World

Once upon a time, in the realm of Eltheros, a world full of captivating tales and mystical creatures, lived a young and adventurous hero named Syllan. Known for his bravery and kindness, Syllan was adored by all. However, he always felt a burning desire within to explore beyond the borders of his home.
One day, he stumbled upon an ancient map in an old sage's library - a map marked ‘Edge of the World'. An uncontrollable excitement washed over him as the idea of discovering this uncharted territory began to consume his thoughts. Visions of himself standing at the brink of their known world excited him more than anything. So he decided to set out on the most daring adventure yet of his young life: to find the Edge of the World.
With the ancient map in his hand and an indomitable spirit in his heart, he embarked on his journey, traveling through treacherous forests, across colossal mountain ranges, and over vast, unending oceans. His journey was filled with daunting challenges and enchanting wonders, from fighting off menacing beasts of the night to stumbling upon mystical hidden oases. Despite all the perils, he never lost sight of his ultimate goal - the Edge of the World.
Many months passed. His body weathered and his spirit tested, but Syllan’s resolve stood unbroken. One day, following the map, he arrived at a vast, sandy desert- the Desert of Sighbore, described as a desert that stretched infinity. According to the map, beyond this desert lay the sought-after Edge of the World. He continued his journey across the desert but quickly found that no matter how far he travelled, his surroundings seemed to remain unchanged.
Days turned into weeks, and despite his persistence, he wasn’t making any progress. His provisions and water supply dwindled, but the desert seemed unending. He began to feel dispirited, perhaps for the first time in his journey. As his strength started to fail him, it seemed his dream was slipping away.
Just as he was about to give up, a glimmering oasis appeared before him. As he regained his senses at the oasis, he met an ancient sage, who saw the weary disappointment in his eyes. The sage smiled and said, 'The desert you try to cross is an illusion - a magical barrier that keeps the unprepared away from the Edge of the World.'
He was taken aback but asked the sage how he could pass the barrier. The sage answered, 'You must let go of your earthly attachments and desires to pass through. Only then can you reach the Edge of the World.' With fresh hope but many reservations, Syllan did as instructed. He spent many days in the oasis, meditating and finding inner peace, letting go of his desires and longing.
One morning, he rose, feeling different, lighter. He decided to set out across the desert once more. As he walked, expecting the same static scenery, he found to his surprise that the landscape was changing. The endless sand dunes have given way to lush, green valleys.
Finally, upon a hill, he saw it – the Edge of the World. It was an awe-inspiring sight, a sheer cliff that dropped into an infinity of colours and cosmos. His heart swelled with indescribable emotions. He had done it.
He returned home, welcomed as a hero, his tale of the Edge of the World becoming a legend, inspiring others to dare, dream, and discover. Yet, he was changed. For he had not only discovered the Edge of the World but also the limitless possibilities within himself.
Syllan had started his journey as a curious, daring boy and returned as a wise, content man, understanding the deeper meaning of journeys and the value of inner peace above worldly desires.
