The machine worked much like the pests; it fed off organic material, but where the pests left wilt, the machine expelled a substance that revitalized the organic matter consumed. From that day forward, Jasper spent his days in his workshop, tinkering away, while his nights were spent dreaming of blueprints. He had redefined farming for his family and his town.
