Goodhands and the Beast

Once upon a glorious spring day in the Kingdom of Livia, where nature was painted in all shades of its divine beauty, lived an old man named Goodhands. Goodhands was known throughout the kingdom not only for his exceptional craftsmanship, but also for his wisdom and kindness.
Goodhands was a maker of violins, and he had always believed in creating harmony, both in his music and in his world. He spent his days in his humble shop, creating the most exquisite violins, their notes carrying across the kingdom and touching the hearts of all who heard them.
One morning, a furious knocking woke Goodhands from his slumber. Bleary-eyed, he opened the door to find Morose the Royal Messenger, his face void of color. A panicked crowd had gathered, sent into a frenzy by the king's proclamation that a mighty beast was Westward bound to their kingdom. As the most respected man in the kingdom, they sought him out, hoping for guidance and assurance.
Goodhands cleverly devised a plan that seemed like an impossible feat – he would soothe the beast with a melody from his violin. With Morose, he set off on his journey carrying along his best violin, the one painted in gold and silver, a violin that produced sounds so sweet, they could calm the fiercest storms.
Days turned into nights as they ventured through fields, hills, and dense forests until the mighty beast was in sight. It was a fearsome creature, twice the size of any man, with fire in its eyes and a disdain for peace. At first sight, the crowd shivered in fear, their hearts beating loudly in their chests.
Summoning courage, Goodhands stepped forth, cradling the precious violin in his old battered hands. He put bow to string, playing a tune so enchanting that it silenced the commotion. The melody flowed gently, wrapping the beast in a blanket of calm. The mighty beast, whose roars had once echoed across valleys, stood entranced, its fiery eyes softening as it listened to the calming harmony.
Goodhands did not stop. He continued playing lullabies filled with memories of his kingdom, with every note telling beautiful tales of camaraderie and cooperation. The beast’s fiery gaze dimmed, replacing the dread with a curiosity the beast had never known. It started swaying to the rhythm, its stony heart melting to the beautiful melody. Eventually, the beast lay down, falling into a peaceful slumber.
Celebrations filled the kingdom, hugs were exchanged, and tears of happiness flowed freely. The king, moved by such an act of courage and wisdom, bestowed Goodhands with the highest honor possible, thereafter he was known as Livia's true hero.
However, the real victory that day was the harmony that was re-established. People across the kingdom took away a valuable lesson – that every war need not be won by a sword, and that kindness could greatly change one's heart. Every beautiful note played by Goodhands that fateful day lingered not just in the peaceful sleep of the beast but also within the hearts of the people who saw a different kind of victory.
In the end, Goodhands returned to what he loved doing the most in life - making violins and crafting melodies that echoed through every corner of the kingdom of Livia. He taught every young Livia citizen the craft with no expected returns, passing on the legacy along with the wisdom that had saved an entire kingdom.
