In Whispering Shire, deep within the heart of Scotland, there was an ancient maple tree known to be magical. This magnificent tree was called the 'Eternal Autumn Tree.' Every day, regardless of the season, its leaves would turn a vibrant hue of amber, resembling the Autumn season, earning it its name. Our tale revolves around a young boy named Euan, the Guardian of the Eternal Autumn Tree.

Euan could see and communicate with spirits since childhood. His parents were the guardians preceding him, and when they passed away, Euan inherited the duty of protecting the tree. He spent his days fulfilling his guardian duties and attending school, though lonely due to his ability to interact with spirits, often misunderstood by others.

One day, he met a beautiful spirit with fiery red hair living in the tree, named Aerin. She was the spirit of Autumn, and they quickly formed a bond. Aerin had been sleeping for years before Euan became the Guardian. Waking and seeing him, she was able to enjoy Autumn all year for the first time. Despite the difference between them, Euan and Aerin experienced a life filled with laughter and love for years.

However, a dreadful day arrived with the appearance of a demon, who aimed to seize the magical energy of the Eternal Autumn Tree. Euan fought courageously, defending the tree and Aerin, but the demon was powerful and managed to wound Euan severely.

Witnessing Euan's sacrifice, Aerin made a choice. As the Spirit of Autumn, she had the power to bestow her energy upon someone else temporarily. She decided to give her power to Euan, hoping to heal him and drive the demon away. This act, however, would cause Aerin to vanish entirely, leaving Euan and the tree alone.

Aerin kissed Euan's forehead and whispered her love for him. As her ethereal touch graced him, Euan felt an overwhelming surge of warmth sweeping his body. Aerin's magic healed him and gave him the strength to defeat the demon.

Once the battle was over, Euan crumbled, crying as he clung to the tree where Aerin once resided. He had not only won the fight but also lost something—somebody—he held dear. From then on, autumn's arrival signified a mixture of joy and melancholy.

Time passed and seasons changed, but the Eternal Autumn Tree stayed the same, forever autumn. Euan continued his duty as the Guardian, carrying on his life with Aerin's memory.
