Felix and the Dragon: A Tale of Courage and Wit

Once upon a time, in a small village named Serene Hollow, situated amidst the mighty Sierra Nevadas, there lived a young boy named Felix. Felix wasn't any ordinary twelve-year-old, his imaginative mind was clever beyond his tender age and his heart embraced a courage that was monstrous compared to his petite structure.
Festive season had arrived in the village, but gloom instead of joy was hanging in the air. For the past few years, the mystical creature, a dragon named Ignatius, tormented Serene Hollow on the eve of the grand festival. The dragon would thunder down from the dreaded mountains and burn the fields, consume livestock, searing everything in its path.
All attempts to negotiate the beast had failed and the villagers feared the imminent arrival. The once cheerful festival now cast an eerie shadow of apprehension. However, unfazed by the looming catastrophe, Felix braved himself to face Ignatius, he believed he could negotiate peace with the dragon, to restore the joy of their annual celebration. Felix's decision was met with discouragement from the villagers, but he resolutely packed his satchel and started his journey towards the dragon's lair.
Up on the steep trails, the unforgiving chill of the mountain air bit into him. He fought back tremors, mustered courage, and continued his march. As he ascended, the sight of the dragon's lair on the frosted peak filled him with a blend of dread and determination, but his resolve unshaken.
As he entered the dragon's lair, the massive creature emerged from the darkness. Its scales shimmered against the flickering firelight, eyes gleamed with unfamiliar curiosity, smoke gently siffling from its menacing snout.
Felix swallowed down fear as he introduced himself politely to Ignatius. He expressed the harm and terror the dragon's activities caused the villagers and pleaded for peace. Ignatius laughed a booming laugh that echoed through the icy halls. No one before Felix had approached the dragon for peaceful dialogue.
The dragon agreed to not terrorize the village anymore, but under one condition. Felix had to solve three riddles posed by Ignatius; the tradition of dragonfolk would be honored this way. If Felix failed, he'd be stuck with Ignatius forever.
For the first riddle, 'What flies without wings?', Felix responded swiftly, 'Time'. Ignatius nodded in approval. Next, 'I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but come alive with the wind. What am I?', Felix regretted his decision for a moment but collected himself and replied 'Echo'. Ignatius nodded again. The third riddle was, 'I am invisible, weightless, you can see me only once in a while, yet I guide you everyday. What am I?'. Felix pondered for a while and answered, 'North Star'. Ignatius looked at him in surprise and admiration.
Brave and clever Felix had solved all the riddles. Comfortable in the knowledge that Felix was trustworthy and true, Ignatius kept his word. The dragon no longer troubled the village and the festival became a grand joyous affair again. As for Felix, he returned home a hero. However, he often visited Ignatius, forming an unlikely friendship; a brave young lad and mighty dragon cherishing the tranquility born out of mutual respect and understanding.
