Ewan and the Tree of Truth

Long, long ago, in the kingdom of Mireia, there existed a magical tree, known as the Tree of Truth. This wasn't an ordinary tree. It possessed the mystical power of revealing the truth about a person's nature through the shade of its leaves.
In this same kingdom lived a young Pagemaster named Ewan. With his heart full of adventures and a mind spurred on curiosity, he spent his days interweaving fact with fiction in the library of Mireia.
One day, during his errand to the village, Ewan overheard gossip about the Tree of Truth. Intrigued, he couldn't resist visiting the tree. It was said that the leaves turned a radiant gold in the presence of the noble-hearted and transformed their color to a sinister black for the cunning and deceitful. On reaching the tree, Ewan was captivated by the spectacle of the tree changing its hue reflecting the souls of its visitors.
Days turned into weeks, and Ewan visited the tree every day. He chronicled the changes in the tree and their correlation with the personalities of the villagers. During one such visit, he saw a little girl, she was Sarah, a baker's daughter renowned for her kindness. Contrary to the expectation, the leaves turned black. Ewan was confounded. He had trusted the tree, but now its verdict seemed at odds. He decided to dig deeper.
Ewan started following Sarah and observed her actions closely. To his surprise, he discovered that the girl bore a secret, a dark one at that. She stole from the very folks she served. His belief affirmed, Ewan was disappointed in Sarah but gained a newfound respect for the Tree of Truth.
Soon, word of Ewan's discoveries spread across the kingdom. The queen, captivated by these stories, summoned him to her palace. Her curiosity piqued about the peculiarity of the tree.
Intrigued by the tale, the queen decided to visit the tree herself. There was silence as everyone awaited the tree's judgment. Gradually, the leaves transformed into a magnificent gold, casting a warm shimmer against the queen's face. Elated by the spectacle, the queen rewarded Ewan for his services. She designated him as a royal chronicler, tasking him with observing and recording the Kingdom’s tales.
Ewan continued to live out his days, wrapped up in the magic of words and the wisdom of the Tree of Truth. The tree remained, reminding all Mireia's occupants that truth resided not in front of the eyes, but within the heart and the soul. It emphasized the moral that no-one should judge others merely at face value; the truth is often hidden beneath layers of pretense.
And so, Ewan’s tales of truth carried onto the generations, inspiring the people to see beyond appearances, to understand and accept others for what they inherently were rather than what they appeared to be.
