Evanna- The Seeress Of Arvandale
It was around the mid-eighteenth century, in the serene country town of Ailsa, Scotland. The town was known for its surreal beauty and the mighty Arvandale castle that stood tall, emitting an aura of grandeur and mystery.
The Castle was home to loyal Highlanders, the Kildrummy clan, who were well-known for their bravery and honesty. Lord Kildrummy, an ardent lover of art and culture, tried to enrich the Scottish culture. Lady Kildrummy was best known for her beauty, wisdom, and kindness. They had only one child, a spirited and lovely daughter named Evanna.
Little Evanna was anything but ordinary. Blessed with enchanting beauty and intelligence, she had another gift – the ability to see into the future. Evanna's powers were a secret within the castle walls, hidden from outside suspicion and envy.
One fateful evening, Evanna had a horrifying vision. She saw an army of men adorned in foreign armor, riding hard towards Arvandale. They ransacked the village and set ablaze the castle. Cold-blooded cries echoed throughout her vision, chilling her to the bone. She saw the Arvandale flag being pulled down, replaced by a flag with the symbol of a fierce wolf - the emblem of the Engine Clan.
Petrified by this impending danger, she decided to reveal her secret to her father. Trusting his daughter's vision, Lord Kildrummy ordered the strengthening of their defenses.
One misty morning, a week or so later, the tranquility of Ailsa town was shattered by the battle-hardened cries of the Engine Clan, echoing just as Evanna had predicted. A fierce battle ensued. The Kildrummys fought courageously, their feet firm on their motherland, and their spirits high in the face of death. The mysterious vision had guided them well, giving them the courage and determination to fight and protect their honor.
Just as the sun was sinking, painting the sky crimson, the tides of the battle turned in favor of the Highlanders. The leader of the Engine Clan was cornered by Lord Kildrummy. Seeing their leader in peril, the invaders began to retreat, leaving behind the land they sought to conquer.
In the aftermath of the bloody battle, the village was not the same. The damage was done, reminding them of the enemy’s ruthlessness. Yet, they felt victorious. They owed their survival to Evanna, who, with her power, had foreseen the disaster and had been instrumental in the defense of Arvandale.
Evanna's selfless act forged a newfound respect for her in the villagers' hearts and she promised to use her gift only for the wellbeing and protection of their community. The castle walls no longer hid her powers.
The villagers rebuilt their shattered homes, pledging their allegiance to the Kildrummy's more than before. The story of Evanna’s bravery was sung by bards, which brought not only pride to the Kildrummy clan but also a strong sense of unity among the villagers.
And so, beautiful Ailsa town held its head high, nurtured with brave hearts and the blessing of the extraordinary Evanna. The story of Arvandale and its brave seeress is told even today, handed down through generations, keeping Evanna's memory alive.
