Emblem of Heart's Desire
Once upon a time, in the serene village of Eckland, settled halfway between the alluring mounts of Aphelion and surrounded by the dreamy Mellows river was a humble abode of a young weaver named, Samuel.
Samuel was known for his exquisite skill of weaving emblems that held the power to grant a single wish to their rightful owner. Exciting as it may seem, these emblems were no trinkets of a fairytale. Samuel was blessed by the divine Fates, the deities of destiny, to help mankind by fulfilling their yearnings. The catch, however, was that the destiny holder could make a single wish, and to be granted, it had to be a desire from the heart.
One afternoon, a wealthy merchant from the city, Alexander, heard about Samuel and his extraordinary talent. Intrigued, he rushed to Eckland hoping to have a personal emblem. Upon meeting Samuel, he blurted, 'I wish to have the power to control time.' Smiling gently, Samuel warned, 'Remember, it must be a desire from the heart.' Skeptical Alexander nodded.
Days turned into nights, and finally, after weeks of toil, Samuel presented Alexander with his emblem. Excited beyond words, Alexander immediately wished, 'I command you to take me back in time to the biggest trade deal I lost.' And so it did, but alas, Alexander lost the deal once again. Frustrated, he tried changing many past events but failed to alter the outcomes. Every time he manipulated time for personal gains, he found himself further unhappy and dissatisfied.
Despair engulfed Alexander; he began questioning his heart's desires and associated happiness with it. Days passed, and one evening, Alexander, sitting by Mellows river, saw a feeble, old man struggling to carry his goods. He was about to turn away when he suddenly thought of helping him out. Using his power, he reversed time to the beginning of the man's strenuous journey and transferred all the goods to the man's dwelling.
A satisfying tranquility took over him, which he had never felt before. The following days saw Alexander helping people using his time control power, and to his surprise, it worked every single time. Discovering the unintended aspect of his wish brought him immense happiness and satisfaction, making him realize the true desires of his heart.
In his quest to possess time, he ended up mastering the art of giving selflessly, learning the ultimate truth of life – true happiness lies in the joy of giving. No longer a cynical merchant, he became a benefactor, a figure of respect in Eckland and beyond, embodying the manifestation of his emblem rather than the wish he made originally.
And, Samuel the weaver, looking at the metamorphosed man from the humble lanes of Eckland, smiled. For he knew, the emblem did not change Alexander's fate; it just revealed to him the lesson destined for him to learn – an understanding of the heart's true desire.
