Ella's Golden Heart

Once upon a time in the verdant village of Greenborough lived a girl named Ella. Ella was unlike any other; she possessed a golden heart and radiated warmth like the sun. Life in Greenborough was quaint and simple, with green pastures spread across as far as the eyes could see, and a azure river running through its heart. Ella lived here with her old father and two elder brothers in a humble house near the woods.
They managed their livelihood by selling dairy products, fruits, and meager crops that they grew on their small farm. Ella's mother had passed away when she was just five years old. Her mother's memories were all she possessed in the form of a small, golden locket that she always wore around her neck.
However, life took a sharp turn on one fateful day. Their small farm was devastated by a relentless storm that demolished their small abode and ravished their crops overnight. Ella’s father, a sturdy man by nature, was heartbroken at the sight. Ella's older brothers had to move to a faraway town in search of work to sustain their family.
Despite the sudden course of unfortunate events, Ella maintained her optimism, a quality that would light up her father's heart. She would do small chores for the neighbors and sell wild berries that she picked from the woods, offering her support in the family’s struggle.
One day, while gathering berries in the forest, Ella noticed something glinting near the old creek. It was a golden fish struggling for life on the dry creek bed. Ella, moved by its pitiable state, immediately poured precious water from her small clay bottle to make the fish comfortable.
In a sudden shimmer of gold, the fish transformed into a beautiful fairy. She was the keeper of the forest and was cursed to remain in the form of a fish until someone showed her selfless act of kindness. Seeing Ella's pure heart, she decided to bless her.
'I am forever in your debt, Ella,' said the fairy, with gratitude filling her words. 'I can grant you two wishes. Choose them wisely.' This surprised Ella, but after a moment's pondering, she said, 'I wish for the prosperity of my village. And I wish for my family's happiness.'
Following her humble wishes, Greenborough transformed into a flourishing village. Fertile lands spread around, laden with bountiful harvest. The houses in ruin were now enchanting homesteads. Where they stood in awe of the sudden fortune, they also noted the reappearance of the azure river humming the song of prosperity.
Upon Ella's brothers' return, they were amazed by the transformation. Witnessing the remarkable revolution, the overfilled heart of Ella's father could not bear so much joy, and he passed away, content and happy, leaving Ella with nothing but blessings.
Seeing her wishes come true, Ella lived her life in bliss, spreading joy among her people, merrily humming along with the azure river. She became the beacon of hope and fortitude for Greenborough. When people asked about the secret behind her glow, she would smile and touch the tiny golden locket, whispering, 'Be kind, and spread love.'
