Dragon's Bane: The legend of Luca and Ignis

Nestled among the towering Alpine rages is the charming little town of Sefton, known for its peace, breathtaking landscapes, and more importantly - for its legend. The story of a long-lasting friendship; an unusual bond between a boy named Luca and a dragon called Ignis.
Luca had always been a curious child. He was born and raised in Sefton, living with his grandfather who would tell him vivid tales of heroic knights and mighty dragons. Little did he know, Sefton had a legacy of dragons waiting to be unearthed by a brave heart.
One day, while exploring a nearby forest, Luca stumbled upon a mysterious cave. Despite the fear nudging at his mind, his adventurous spirit steered him inside. There, he discovered an enormous, shimmering egg-like stone. His heart pounded with excitement as he realized what it was - a dragon egg! From that moment, he pledged to guard the egg until it hatched.
Weeks turned into months, and then one full moon night, the stone began to wobble, shudder and crack. Emerging from it was a majestic creature, with scales shimmering like sapphires and emerald eyes that possessed beyond natural wisdom. This was Ignis, who would be Luca's friend for life.
Despite being a dragon, Ignis was as gentle as a lamb. He was both Luca's protector and companion. Need companions to fetch firewood? Ignis' fiery breath made it a cinch. Need help rescuing a kitten stuck on a tree? Ignis’ wings got the job done. The two were indivisible, sharing stories and adventures, and the townsfolk of Sefton adored them.
One day, news arrived that a fierce beast was wreaking havoc in the neighboring towns. The villages were being pillaged, livestock were lost, and the community feared for their lives. With immense anxiety yet conviction, Luca and Ignis decided to confront the menacing beast.
With the whole town at their back, they marched towards the threat. They noticed scars on the beast's body, indicating a desperate fight for survival, not malice. Luca approached the creature, using Ignis' might as a buffer, and offered food and care. Bewildered and teary-eyed, the beast accepted their kindness, revealing its fear and loneliness. A crestfallen warrior reduced to dreary survival.
With wisdom uncommon to his age and Ignis' support, Luca managed to pacify the beast. The following days saw the creature's transformation into a gentle giant, grateful for the compassion it was shown. News of Luca's feat spread throughout the region, ushering a time of peace and security in the Alpine valleys.
Years later, as an elderly Luca sat by the fire, he couldn't help but be in awe of the boy he was and the legend he had become. He realized how Sefton town had given him a loving home, a dragon for a best friend, and the strength to face fearsome challenges. He and Ignis had thrived on friendship, kindness, and bravery. And perhaps, that's what legends are made of.
