Deleon: The Curse-breaker King
Once upon a time, in a kingdom known as Evelina, there lived a kind-hearted king named Torin who was respected for his wisdom and justice. But, Torin was depressed, as he had no heir to his throne. The queen, Elysia, despite being the most beautiful lady in the kingdom, couldn't bear a child, which became a common concern for the sleuths.
Their anguish came to an end when the queen, praying fervently in the forest one day, was approached by an eccentric old woman. She was the last standing witch of Saridia, who promised the queen a son in exchange for the promise that the boy would visit her when he turns 16. Seeing no other option, the desperate queen agreed.
A year later, a son was born who was named Deleon. Growing up, Deleon proved to be an extraordinary child. He was courageous, intelligent, and endowed with an unusual charm. However, the king and queen refrained from revealing his actual birth truth to him.
Deleon turned sixteen. But before the royal couple could inform him about his obligatory visit to Saridia, a neighboring kingdom declared war on Evelina. Young Deleon, brimming with courage, insisted on fighting alongside his father. Left with no choice, the king and queen withheld the truth to ensure their son's safety.
Evelina won the war. The victorious Deleon became a hero, but it was a fleeting moment of success. Dark clouds of despair hung over Evelin again as the old witch of Saridia, enraged at the breach of the promise, cursed them with seven years of deadly winter. It started to snow, the crops failed, and a catastrophic famine followed.
Deleon, understanding something was amiss, questioned his parents. Tearfully, the queen confessed about her encounter with the witch. Deleon, filled with dismay, rode off to Saridia to undo his mother's mistake.
The witch of Saridia, calculating but reasonable, offered a way to break the curse. Deleon had to fetch the Star of Eirene — a mystical gem renowned for bringing peace, located atop the perilous Aglaia Mountain, a place no man had ever returned from. But Deleon, with love for his kingdom and his parents, took the challenge.
Scaling the icy dangerous terrain, battling monstrous beasts, and pushing through numerous trials, Deleon finally reached the gem on the mountain's peak. But grabbing it was not easy as it was guarded by the ancient dragon, Lystra. The fearsome dragon attacked Deleon, but he fought courageously, managing to wound Lystra and create a window of opportunity to grab the Star of Eirene.
By the time Deleon returned, he was a man transformed by his extraordinary journey. The witch, impressed by his bravery and obedience, lifted the curse. The kingdom of Evelina bloomed once again, bringing back smiles on every face.
Feeling guilty for his actions that had put his son in danger, the king declared Deleon his heir, for he had not only saved the kingdom but demonstrated a king's qualities — immense courage, wisdom, and a heart for the people.
Years later, when old King Torin passed away, Deleon was crowned. Under his wise and brave rule, Evelina prospered more than ever before. His story was sung far and wide, remembering the prince who retrieved the Star of Eirene, breaking the curse, and leading his kingdom to new heights of glory.
