Dawn of The Inferno
In the heart of the mystical city of Zephyr, a young and ambitious knight, Aiden, readied himself for his first encounter with a dragon. Aiden was a knight-in-training under his mentor, Sir Gideon, a renowned knight famed for his valour.
Aiden's heart pounded. Never had he faced a real dragon before, only the straw dummies that were mockingly easy targets during his training sessions. His breath quickened as he tightened his grip on his iron sword, feeling the coolness of the metal seep into his palm. Deep within, he was petrified, feeling his knees quiver underneath his iron armor, but he knew there was no turning back.
In the shadows of the rocky caves, he could hear the soft echoes of the dragon’s rhythmic, sonorous breathing. The suffocating aroma of burnt wood and scorching sulphur wafting in the air filled his senses. He could feel the dragon's presence, an infernal mystery yet to be unfolded. Yet, he stood unmoving, adrenaline pouring in his veins.
Suddenly, an engulfing heat hit Aiden, making him sweat profusely underneath his heavy armor. A pair of gleaming red eyes appeared in the darkness. A sinister shadow crawled out, revealing a colossal serpent, the likes of which Aiden had only heard of in tales. This was the Infernos, the most physically imposing dragon with scales gleaming like molten gold, eyes burning like twin suns, and teeth sharp as crystal shards.
Though fear lingered, courage overwhelmed him. Spurred by his drive to protect his town, Aiden charged towards the beast, the voracious fire in his eyes mirroring the flames that danced around Infernos. Metallic clangs and ear-splitting roars filled the cave as Aiden attacked repeatedly, each strike precise and calculated.
Infernos, unmoving, merely watched the knight's futile attempts to bring it down. With a flick of its mighty tail, Infernos swatted Aiden away like a fly. But his will was not dulled. He struggled back to his feet and ran at the dragon again, even more vigorously. However, the Infernos charged its own attack, releasing a barrage of blazing flames targeted directly on Aiden.
As the scorching flames bore down on him, Aiden dug deep into his last reserves of energy and courage and launched himself at the beast, his sword plunging effortlessly into Infernos' gigantic form. A guttural roar echoed within the cave walls. The cave shook as the Infernos crashed to the ground, spasmed, and then lay motionless.
Exhausted but victorious, Aiden slogged out of the cave. Zephyr’s horizon was bathed in the soft morning light. The faces of the townspeople lit up at the sight of Aiden. Cheers and applause filled the town. The lad had achieved the impossible; he had slain Infernos.
Sir Gideon approached Aiden with a warm smile, patting his back, 'You have shown courage and strength far beyond your years, Aiden. You were not just fighting for yourself there but for all of us. This is what true bravery looks like.'
Aiden became a hero to the inhabitants of Zephyr, his triumph proof that courage is not determined by age or size, but by the conviction to face one's fears head-on. However, despite the victory, Aiden knew he had much to learn. The clash against Infernos wasn't just his first encounter with a dragon; it was a reminder of his oath to stand up for his people, a reminder that real knights are not born, they are made in the face of adversity.
