Asgan’s Successor: The Tale of Lumina

Once upon a time, in the heart of Magic Woods, there existed a kingdom known as Lumina. Lumina was unique because it was hidden from most humans. The guardians of Lumina were mythical creatures, and the most respected among them was an ancient and wise dragon named Asgan.
Asgan was unlike any dragon you would expect. He wasn't terrifying or destructive, rather he was revered for his wisdom and kindness. He had shimmering, golden scales that dazzled in the sunlight, and eyes as deep as the quietest pond. He had battled many evils, seen many ages pass, and his wisdom was sought by all the inhabitants of the kingdom.
Across the ages, Asgan taught many valuable lessons to the young, told countless tales of valor, and shared his vast knowledge with all. He was a symbol of unity and peace for the citizens of Lumina, and the creatures respected him greatly.
However, with time, the once-strong and lively dragon grew older and weaker. Knowing his time was near, he decided to choose a successor to carry on his legacy of wisdom. He announced a contest, open to all creatures of Lumina, where the one who solved the riddle of the radiant rose would become his successor. The radiant rose was a magical flower in the Magic Woods, born out of a planet's dying wish, which glowed day and night.
The contest sparked excitement and eagerness among Lumina's creatures. Everyone, from the smallest squirrel to the largest griffin, wanted to demonstrate their wisdom. Yet, no one could solve the riddle of the radiant rose.
In Lumina, there was a tiny, hummingbird named Flit, known for her vibrant colors and cheerful nature, though she often thought of herself as insignificant and shy. She, too, wished to become Asgan’s successor, but kept her desires hidden for fear of ridicule.
Days passed, and the riddle remained unresolved. Asgan's condition worsened, and he called for an assembly, expressing his disappointment. Deep down, Flit knew she had the answer. She had observed that the radiant rose’s glow would brighten whenever Asgan narrated stories, its magical aura serving as an affirmation of truth and wisdom. But her hesitation silenced her.
One night, as she fluttered aimlessly around the kingdom, she was drawn to Asgan's cave. Seeing him distraught and feeble, she gathered all her courage and presented her solution. She explained to the dragon that the radiant rose was a mirror of wisdom, its glow a reflection of the wisdom it sensed.
Asgan was surprised and delighted. Flit had solved the riddle, and he saw in her the potential to carry forward his legacy. He announced her as his successor the next day. Asgan passed away peacefully, knowing his wisdom was in capable hands. Flit, once considered insignificant, became the guide and mentor for all Lumina’s creatures, reminding them that true wisdom isn't about knowing all, but about perceiving, observing, and learning from all around us.
