An Echo of Affection

Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Valeria, a young princess named Aurelia lived. She was a beautiful maiden whose radiant smile reflected the purity of her heart. But Aurelia had a unique talent that set her apart from the others - she had the power to touch someone's heart and read the deepest sentiments within it. She could peer into the soul of any being and see the essence of their emotions. An echo of affection, or love, was the strongest of all, the touch would release a golden beam, so sharp yet so gentle, it could penetrate even the stoniest heart.
Born to a ruthless dictator, King Xynoth, Aurelia was unlike her father in every aspect. King Xynoth was known far and wide for his tyrannical rule, his heart locked up safe from the turmoil of emotions. Yet Aurelia held on to her hope, and her powers, believing it could result in a better tomorrow for Valeria.
One day, a young prince from the neighboring Kingdom of Zephyr arrived. Prince Elocin was his name, and his looks matched his gallant personality. Every girl in Valeria was smitten, but Elocin's eyes fell upon the unique Aurelia. Their hearts throbbed in symmetry as if they were one, their affection genuine and equal. Oblivious of her powers, Elocin courted her, hanging on to every word she uttered.
As the days passed, the bond between Aurelia and Elocin strengthened. She knew she endured true love for him. Aurelia decided to reveal him her powers. To her surprise, he wasn't frightened rather intrigued and he found her more endearing. They promised their shared secret would stay safe with them.
Aurelia never tried her ability with her father has her heart was aware she would find no love or sympathy there, but now, she felt differently. She wanted to use her power to soften her father's heart. On revealing her hidden talent to him, he grew hateful and frightened and locked her in the palace tower in fear of his secrets being unveiled.
Once Elocin heard about it, he was frantic. With the power of his love and armed with his courageous spirit, he devised a plan to save his love. Faking his departure from Valeria, he stayed back disguising as a guard to free Aurelia.
The dark palace corridors resonated with the echo of affection between the two young hearts which guided Elocin towards Aurelia. He seeped into her locked chambers like a hero from the tales. As he unlocked the chains binding Aurelia, their palms met. The golden glow was instantaneous and intense, it enveloped the entire room, stronger and brighter than Aurelia had ever experienced.
The blinding light reached King Xynoth, who came running towards its source. On entering Aurelia's room, he stood frozen as he witnessed the echo of affection between the two. Overwhelmed, Aurelia involuntarily reached out to her father, and for the first time, she touched him.
Feeling the surge of empathy and affection travelling from his daughter's fingers, Xynoth's hard exterior began to crumble. Locked memories overflowed, memories of his wife, Aurelia's mother, and the love they shared, the laughter, the warmth, the affection. Aurelia had unlocked the door to his heart, the echo of affection tore down the walls of cruelty he had built over the years.
The consequences of Xynoth's actions came before him like a haunted mirror. Tears welled up, a novel experience for the tough King. He let them flow. He embraced Aurelia and whispered an apology, a promise of better days ahead, an era of kindness and love. Elocin stepped forward, extending his hand. Xynoth took it, marking the beginning of the wonderful friendship between Valeria and Zephyr.
In the wake of corporate empathy, both kingdoms prospered, their unity and harmony stirring an era of peace. The echo of affection had not just united two lovely hearts but two kingdoms, bringing about an unexpected redemption.
