A Dance with Destiny
In the peaceful age of the Sapiens, there was a serene village nestled against a river brimming with water so clear, one could see their reflection as if staring into a finely polished mirror. This hamlet was known as Kelder, and in Kelder, lived a young man named Havish. Havish was not just any ordinary resident; he was endowed with an extraordinary gift. He foresaw glimpses of the future in his dreams, a true visionary in all sense. However, Havish was tormented by these visions, constantly slipping between moments of unspoken dread and curiosity as they often projected imminent catastrophe.
One dark night, Havish found himself amid another one of his ominous dreams. He saw a fierce, bloodthirsty dragon, with scales as black as obsidian, setting ablaze the quaint and cherubic settlement he called home. Immediately shaken, Havish woke up, cascading a sweat as cold as the winter stream running outside his humble abode. The dragon, he thought, was nothing but a symbolic metaphor of an impending disaster.
Fearful, yet determined to save his people, Havish divulged his troubling premonition to the village elder, a wise, old woman named Freya. Accustomed to Havish's unique dreams, Freya took the fearful news with a level head and told him, "Havish, remember, your dreams are not etched in stone. They are a warning, a window into what may come. It's within our power to steer the course of fate.",Motivated by Freya's wisdom, Havish embarked on a journey towards the Rigid Peaks, home to an age-old hermit renowned for his wisdom and cries. The trek was not easy; Havish faced numerous trials, menacing creatures, and perilous landscapes. Yet, he trudged on, fuelled by fear of his dream and the wish to protect his homeland.
Finally, Havish reached the hermit's abode, presenting himself as a humble village visionary seeking a prophecy's meaning. After patiently listening to Havish's tale and his dream, the hermit spoke, "Fire engulfs what it touches, yet it is also a symbol of rebirth, a purifier. Havish, perhaps the Dragon in your dream is not a harbinger of doom but a signal of a necessary change. Fight it not with steel, but with acceptance and wisdom.",Heartened but puzzled, Havish returned home. The decrepit hermit's obtuse advice was all he had to overcome the shadow his dream cast on Kelder. As days turned into weeks, Havish began to introspect. He realized that Kelder was a village stuck in the past, upholding obsolete traditions, fearfully resisting any change. And then it struck him. The dragon represented 'change,' feared yet needed. The fire was not of destruction, but of transformation.
Armed with this newfound understanding, Havish began advocating change, inspiring his fellow villagers to embrace evolution rather than cowering in the fear of the unknown. Changes came slowly but steadily. Kelder's tried-and-true practices were questioned and then improved to evolve the village into a better settlement, ensuring its continued existence.
It was then that Havish dreamt of the dragon once more. But this time, he did not wake up in fear. Instead, he stood tall in his dream, facing the dragon, witnessing its mighty scales shimmering under the moonlight. The dragon didn't bring destruction but soared the sky, spreading its radiant, silvery glow, illuminating Kelder.
Havish woke up, a smile of relief adorning his face. He realized the dragon of change had indeed come, but instead of reducing Kelder to ashes, it transformed Kelder to a place of enlightenment, pushing it one step closer toward a better tomorrow. A peaceful sense of satisfaction washed over Havish as he watched the first tendrils of dawn light creep over the rejuvenated village. He finally understood that his gift did not bind him to a predesigned destiny; rather, it guided him, helping him ensure a bright future for his home, Kelder.
